I've crimped more wires than that lol in 1 project before. I'm pretty handy with the solder so that won't be a problem for me. I just need to know if these 2 can be combined to make the same thing.

PS: I'll probably end up buying SVX harness as it looks like it does require some modifying to get those wires to have illumination and CAN wires.

You've already done the math buy the harness. It's totally worth it.

Did you budget for mounting adapters for the speakers? Both the Kappa sets will need adapters. In the front, the Perfects require a 1" adapter. You can't just screw them to the inner door skin.

Yea I did. Hence why I'm trying to save on other stuff haha (mainly the harness). It'll cost me $60 for a set of 4 of those bracket (or I might only need 2 as the rear speakers comes with a couple of 3 holes brackets). And I'm planning on using 100% true copper 4 gauges wires for the power/ground so that'll cost me quite a bit too. I was trying to see if I can save that $20 or so but I can see it'll create much more work for me if I have to modify them to work. I'm glad I don't want to upgrade the HU lol. Thought about it but couldn't justify paying $1000s for Nav units that are slower than a tablet that cost much lower. So i'll just stick a android tablet or an ipad mini with a gps module later if I do want that kind of luxury.

That set up looks pretty tight! Make sure your ohms are right so it doesn't under power and think about upgrading to a better HU.

The stock HU is capable of good output once you put it into through mode and disable loudness.

More power is not a reason to change head units. Since most head units don't use PWM power supplies, they're limited by battery power just like the stock unit. Ever wonder why so many are rated at 52W per channel?

We got some engineer major student/engineer up in here lol. And yeah I'll be using really good power wires and fuses so no worry in that. And like Keen said upgrading the HU is not really needed if I have a good amp and put the OEM HU in through mode. That amp I'm using also has built in DSP so it'll work just fine I believe.

Bought a 2012 WRX Premium.. stock speakers sound crappy... upgrade HU.. stock speakers sound worlds better than the infinity speakers.

My infinity kappa perfects are now bookshelf speakers in my spare bedroom.

Trust me.. youll never get as much bass as you hear in my youtube video from them in a car setting.. that amp has bass jacked way up, and in my car with the bass maxxed out there was nothing but treble from the midranges... they are 6" tweeters... yes they were setup properly.. infinity is known to have weak midbass...

also, good luck fitting them.. the magnets are huge, and the woofer excursion will likely rub the stock speaker grill.. or you can mod the door panels to fit the included grills (good luck getting them on)

/venting the worst purchase I have EVER made

Mtn, many reviews agree with your description. Do the crossovers have a -3dB setting for the highs? If so, were you using it?

I looked at Infinity first because I like their subs, but the negative reviews for the components were too strong and numerous to ignore. I went with Polk instead and have been very happy with them.

Thanks for the review. However everyone's taste in music is different. I'm not looking to get all bass out of my speakers. I also have a set of full range 3 ways kappa in the rear to take care of most of other frequencies. There are way more good reviews compare to the negatives ones ( that I think was looking for subwoofer type of bass). I do realize a lot of time Infinity products are some what overpriced so there are probably a lot better options for that same price. However I only paid $67 shipped for a pair of these and I can guarantee my set up will sound MUCH better than the stock speakers the WRX has. But I'll have to wait until I have them installed to be able to say how much I like them. Oh and they WILL fit with a 3/4" adapter perfectly as many other has already done so.

There is -4dB setting for it and from what I read people are happy with the high using this setting. I'm not sure why you say there are strong negative reviews for this component set though. I read way more positive reviews compared to the negatives reviews as explained above.

Infinity's aren't meant for pumping out bass, especially from a 6.5" driver. Infinity subwoofers are, however, fantastic sounding subs. You can tone down the highs. I'd rather have too much natively than not enough. If you want to know how a speaker truly sounds, turn off any and all EQ settings. If it can't be turned off, turn it to flat/make everything 0.

I agree with you. I bought these with intention for clarity not over compensated bass. I would have gotten a subwoofer as well if I want to have that bass. From reading a lot of reviews these speakers sound like they should give me what I'm looking for however I'll have to see how much I like them after I install them.

Debate: Infinity Basslink Subwoofer? Or no Subwoofer?
Well with a lot of input about my set up lacking in bass I was wondering if I should install a subwoofer as well to get it all taken care off? Just for the record I do not like listening to music with over compensated bass. I do listen to a lot of Hip-hop, Dubstep and edm.

You're getting a hatch, so expect more exhaust noise to enter the cabin than on a sedan. The problem is most prominent at freeway cruising speeds. The low frequency exhaust sound may drown out any lower frequencies coming from just your speakers, so you may need to pump out more bass to compensate for it.

That said I don't know how loud the stock WRX exhaust is. I know the SPT exhaust I have on my hatch does rumble pretty good, but the B-8PT sub I added gives me just the right amount of oomph to hear it on my commute.

Also, another caveat - Since your build includes the MS-A1004 you may be able to use the equalizer and tune for this so that you bump up the bass at higher volume levels, but that might make things muddy with just your speakers. Adding a sub and using the HP filter would give you better clarity and free up your kappa's to focus on clear midrange and send anything below around 100-120hz to the sub.

Adding the sub later is easy, so go with what you have for now and add the sub later if you think you need it.

I guess I can just see how it works first and add-on later. I just wanted to get everything done at once and not have to worry about it later haha. And I ordered my car with the SPT exhaust lol. But I guess I'll just wait to see how those speakers will work first. Only problem is if I want to get the sub I'll have to wait until November next year for the same discount haha.

Although I am probably over worrying with music since the SPT exhaust sounds will be too good to have music over it. xD

Hatch with SPT exhaust will drown out lower frequencies, I'd get the sub.

You'll still hear it, trust me. And if you want to hear it more clearly, turn down the music.

Meh there're other things I need to get first (Clear bra, Cobb AP, winter tires...) so I'll just settle for the current set up and listen to my boxer rumble if the music isn't good enough (though I think it'll be fine)

Whoa, you are going to run these without a sub? You really wont like them then.

It is a high end speaker, and yes it is not made to "pump out bass", but it cant even touch the stock speakers for bass OR midbass. Its literally ALL treble from the 6.5" speaker.

I did turn the treble down on the crossover, it made it bearable.

Just dont do what I did... I pretended to like them because they were high end.. spent money on an amp thinking that would make them sound good.. then built midbass speakers for under my seats to make them sound better.. I should have returned them right away and gone alpine type R. Im sorry if my posts on the topic come across as rude, but it was literally the worst purchase I have EVER made.

I know you weren't trying to be rude. Although I appreciate your input I think I'll just have to find out myself once my car is here. I do listen to music that comes with a lot of bass however I don't want to listen to music with too much bass to the point I can feel it shakes. From reading all the reviews online I think the speakers I puchase will be able to sastify me without a sub. And afterall I'm getting them for 1/5 of their retail price so no real loss to me if it isn't worth the money. It would still be an upgrade from the stock stuff.

Do what you want, but I have an REaudio 10 and it sounds fantastic with no "shakes" unless I have it all the way up to like 30, even then its subtle. What people are trying to tell you now is you probably won't be happy and to do it all at the same time and save yourself a second install.

There are two ways to go about adding a sub, you can add one with a ton of power and be heard from a mile away, or you can go for sound quality and tune it correctly and nobody would know its there. I am a quality guy and to me, without a sub, its hard to have the right balance in these cars, even with properly amped 6.5s.

If I add a sub I would only get either the Infinity Basslink (which has outstanding reviews) or a JBL MS-BassProSQ.
