$450??? thats it??? dang. The cheapest I could find for my old saturn was $670 in Santa Rosa saturn. Pleasanton Saturn wanted $1100 for it. Of course it takes 4 to 8 hours to do, the tranny has to be dropped. I wonder if the local tranny places can do Suby clutches, they are very highly recommended and honest, and did my mustang for like $350, but it was a cheap v8 mustang, so I expected that.

Hey Dan,
What happen with your buddy? (Rick)right? That shop we all went to. Didn't he say he would do it for less? I'll ask my mechanic friend, he's got a lift at Sears Point. It just so happens that my clutch was slipping this morning when passing in 5th @ 90mph. And it just so happens that I've got a clutch & flywheel sitting on my bench. Adam |

I talked to Subaru fo Santa Crux about 3 weeks ago. I askedhow much to install a clutch and a flywheel and they said $450 also.
Hell if you could find a problem in your drievtrain. Of course if you car is still under warranty, while they are taking out the transmission have them throw in the clutch and flywheel. Hey mcgyver we should do a Clutch and Flywheel meet at Sears point and install those fun parts. ~Bill [This message has been edited by skywalker (edited December 15, 2000).] |

There is a place called Advanced automotive on Mission, in the excelsior district... He quoted me 260, plus 50 for the flywheel resurfaced... then again, there was this place that was highly recommended in LA that quoted me 180 for everything... they had an inhouse machine shop... but i digress...

I'd take you up on that offer Alex if you really wanted
My car is not under warrenty anymore, and "Alan" for those of you who came to my installfest, he's been run out of his shop space by the landlord...Higher bidder on rent... so he'll be moving his shop to the Pleasanton/Dublin area around february or march. (he was going to do it for $300, resurfacing the flywheel and everything) My turbo will be ready by Late January & I need the clutch in by then. Again, any other recommendations are welcome! Thanks guys! |

Daniel, you better keep it down. You know, I don't want to tell everyone that after you broke your alternator belt tentioner bolt, you have tried to duct tape it and couldn't figure it out why it didn't work.

Hello,
Clutch Express on El Camino in Sunnyvale or Mountain View, can't remember. All cars are about $250. That includes the miata which is far harder than the scooby to do a clutch job on (damn "power" bar - big iron bar between diff and tranny that is IMPOSSIBLE to align right without a lift and a ton of work). Anyway, they just did one of our mustangs and did a fine job. I'd recomend them. They're in the yellow pages and most yellow pages even have a coupon for them. Joel |
