Whichever YOU want. It's your car, you'll have to decide (although I'd say a BOV should be waaaaaay down the list).

Also, you've list a combination of cosmetic and performance mods. I don't consider making my car look different a "mod", but that's just me!

tinted windows are decently cheap and make the car look WAAAY better. if you have enough left over after that i would either get an exhaust or wheels

I put the tinted windows and "I" badge in just for fun.. will do those anyway, just wanted a response
I had to put this poll up because there is so many mods out there. I can't install all of them all at once, however, they will all be done within the next 6 months. I just picked her up on 12/31/01. I drove the car yesterday up to Maine (about 250miles) and I was so impressed with the power on the highway at 80mph in 5th; it just keeps on pulling! Oh, I wish I didn't have to work so I can go play. By the way: I am a Porsche-Audi salesperson, and the owner asked me to move the car Waaaayyy around back this morning. in the 4 wheeling world (where i'm coming from), we get this newbie question alot.
one thing i always tell them, is learn how to drive. having 4wd/awd/etc is NOT the solution for everything. my daily driver for the past 11 years was a toyota truck that was slower than molasses. now, i'm often suprised on how i look down at the speedo and i'm going 80mph! so now, i have a different mindset. i have to almost "relearn" how to drive. of course going from a slush box to a 5 speed is the biggest change... |

Thanks, I do appreciate your comment, however, we have owned high horsepowered all-wheel drive vehicles before.

Make a list, according to your budget and the time you have to work on the car. That way, you can get a new mod every month (or whenever) and be organized about it, doing research in between!
Good luck, Ed (um, let's see...January...oh yeah, oil pressure gauge and STi hood scoop) |

Hey Rallyman5,
Congrats! I picked up my silver WRX Wagon on Dec 29. I love it. My first mod will probably be tinted windows. Take care |

Catback, turbo back? What qualities are you looking for?
I got a BPM GT turbo back from Exeter Subaru (subaruwrxparts.com) and had them install it. I don't have access to a lift, and they've done several of them! Ed |

Just noticed you're in Boston. They're a great local place for parts and service (well, fairly local!).

I was thinking of a Turbo back exhaust.. does that system then give you only 1 cat, instead of 3?
Will it pass emissions test with 1 cat? Is the BPM GT exhaust excessively loud? (I do not want a drone inside the car at highway speeds - I had a "sportsman" (loud) exhaust on the Porsche and my fiance couldn't stand to be in the car for more than 20 minutes. Thanks for your help... -Ron My other Toy! click-> Mini Turbo |

Like most turbo backs, it replaces the two cats in the exhaust with one hi-flow cat, leaving the cat in the uppipe intact. It should pass sniffer tests.
Volume was an important consideration for me, as well, and with the silencer installed, it's only slightly louder than stock. Ed |

If you can afford the exhaust always get the exhaust first. Then you don't have to worry about the big expense first.

I say: Go with the wheels and new tires, then lower it, then work on the performance mods...by that time your car will be broken in....

I am in total agreement with JaPsiCaN .

(2) Driver's Ergonomics ZOOM wide-angle side mirrors (eliminates/reduces blindspots) Window tinting (functional for improving visibility or just wear sunglasses) (3) Power upgrades You've got the handling and braking now, so you can handle more power (4) Pure aesthetic upgrades Function before form. |
