So it appears most people want to drive to Homer. However, I have no desire to lead a group that far down. Seward is the easiest, cleanest route. It's ideal for distance. Therefore, if anyone wants to cruise to Seward on Sunday, October 13th, just message here, text or PM me and I'll add you to the list.

With Seward I can call restaurants ahead of time to make some food reservations. Also, I'll have to rediscover the pit stops on the way down. I know there's the Gulch, the Valley and one more stop just before the Hope Exit. Hopefully Ralph can confirm if no one else can.

Here's Apollo's menu: http://www.apollorestaurantak.com/

Let me know what you want and I'll call them at preparing food in advance. With so many people they'll probably only prepare a few in advance, but if enough people are willing to eat the same things it'll make it easier and quicker on everyone.

See original post for more comments about food.

Davin, I added you.

Oh man.. I don't know if our cars would do well going down to Seward. They do need maintenance.. Soldotna maybe, but not sure if we'd push for Seward.

I haven't been to Soldotna in some time, I know Shelly and I were planning to hit Homer this summer but never made it. For some reason though, I always thought Soldotna was further than Seward.. thought maybe because I am/was less used to the drive?

October 13th? I'll see what the girl and I are doing and perhaps will join. Hopefully weather will hold better than that one year we attempted Seward and it wound up white-stuffing.

Seward is much closer than Soldotna. Plus there's been a lot of construction towards Soldotna near Cooper's Landing, so it's slow-going. I think ya'll should carpool with someone. It's always a good time having you around.

Yeah, I remember in 2011 is when my clutch burnt out on the way back from Seward and it started snowing. $300 tow bill. $1200 repair at Conti. And we bypassed the Hope turnout parking lot area because it just kept raining.

I added you, Ben!

More than likely we'll end up driving our own cars each this time (which means i won't be doing rolling shots if I take my car and shaggie takes his).

Just ignore my obnoxious rattle where my cat-delete is.... needs to be replaced.

You should ride with shaggy and confuse traffic by taking pictures from the driver's seat.

Soooo.... I was reminded that I have prior engagements to go to Valdez on this weekend and I won't be coming back until Sunday evening. I can help setup, but I'm going to need someone else to carry the torch on this one, which basically just means rounding up the group at the location and driving down.

Sorry guys.

I'm hoping Josh can do it since he's become fairly acquainted with everyone and gathering people for cruises.

Have we at least established that it is on the 13th officially. Let's make sure that date is set in stone, and then figure out a meeting time and meeting place, and where we are going.

Valdez wouldn't be bad, depending on how weather is going through the pass.

I think the 13th is the best date to ensure that snow isn't on the ground yet. Beyond that you're pushing it.

Valdez would be hilarious since I'd just wave to you guys on the way back! Or maybe stick around and cruise back with you... I don't even know what there is to do in Valdez besides take Fall pictures.
