bad gas milage
i just finished my ej18t build and now i'm getting bad gas milage before the build i was getting about 320-350 miles to a full tank now i'm getting 125-145 to a full tank. my setup is: ej18 engine, 370cc sf injectors, turbo water pump, blow-through maf, fmic, parallel fuel mod, vf34 turbo set @ 8psi, wrx manifold, 3" tbe, catless up and dp. at first i thought fuel leak but no, then i thought someone is stealing it so i put locking cap and park it i garage still same problem. what else could it be? other than that it runs really well.

you aren't scaled for those injectors. That is my guess.

yeah if your not tuned your just sending too much fuel through your injectors because the ecu still thinks they are the stock size

running rich is definitely not as bad as running lean.
get a tune man. running too rich (sounds like it) can cause your car to wash out its cylinder walls and/or destroy your piston rings. |

just found my stock injectors and they're a little messed up from when i took 'em out of the fuel rails to put in the bigger ones
another question before i went turbo the cel was on and the only code that would come up was the tps sensor. now with the turbo and everything on the car there is no cel at all is that a good thing? i never touched the tps and no more cel. |

well first of all, I don't think putting the stock injectors back in the car is a good thing, now that you are a turbo setup you are going to use more fuel. If you put the injectors in you might run extremely lean. I say juts go get something to tune your car, and pay someone in TX a little cash to road tune the car.

I would recomend Emanage Ultimate, especially if you are ever planning on going an extra mile to create more power. Allows you to pull timing and adjust AFR a lot better than emanage blue or pp6 or anything. I've been told its worth the extra cash, thats why I'm going to be shelling it out

I dont have much experience with the older imprezas but if you could wire in an 02 wrx ecu then it could pretty much be dialed in as if it was on a stand allone. This would probably require some innovation from a wiring perspective, but it would be pretty inexpensive.
I'm suprised the car runs at all with a blow thru MAF and everything ..pretty crazy.. |
