Car dies when cold.
Almost every morning I start my Subaru up it will start, rev to 1,500rpm then die. It doesn't hesitate or cough, just dies like I turned the key off. The second time I turn it over, it'll stay at 1,500rpm untill warm then drop to 500 (that's normal I'm assuming). Any ideas why it dies the first time? It's a 2001 2.5RS and only has 4,500 miles. I'm about to take it in for service but I wanted oppinions first. Thanks.

Yep, mine too.
2000 with 17,000 miles. Usually happens when very cold (20 degrees and below). Don't know why. I just pray that it does stay running after the second try. Isn't it nice to have the peace of mind of buying a reliable new car? Keep us posted as to what your dealer says, mine's not going in until around April. (at which time it will be warm enough so the "dealer can't duplicate problem") Thanks. Bob |
