Post Trading MY00 RS rims for 98 Legacy GT rims

Im looking at a straight up trade for either 98 gold wheels, Legacy 2.5 GT wheels, or any other set of sporty looking wheels for My
set of MY00 rims and tires. I just want to change the look of my RS wheel a little.

Whats the rim size on the RS's? are they smaller than the legacy GT's? If they are the same size I would do a trade up for my 97 Legacy GT rims. Problem lies in the shipping.....

The MY00 rims are 16" , I believe yours is the same size. Your right about shipping, Something to check in too tomarrow, im not sure how much rim/tire price will be to ship.
Dosen't the 97 rim look identical to the 98 rim (is there any difference?).

As far as I know the 97's and 98's are the same, silver spoked wheels. Mine are in excellent condition also. Check on the shipping, I mat still do it. I wanted to upgrade to a 17" design from Enkei that I have been lookin at for a little while, but I dunno yet.

on size, the GT rims are only 6.5" wide, the RS rims are 7" wide. Might want to think about it before trading- unless you're running 205 to 215 tires which is probably OK w/ the 6.5" width.

just FYI.

Thanks for the insight, I was gonna run 215's to make up the difference in the 1/2 inch I would be losing. I was also thinking about spacers but decided against it. All I need now is to find someone who has a set to trade with.

Here's a question, What year or special model of Legacy had Gold version of the GT wheels? Iv'e seen alot of 98 GT that are silver but there is one that is in my town that has the gold version (that looks factory).

I know that MY98 Impreza RS's had 5 spoke gold wheels, but haven't ever seen a legacy GT with gold wheels. I want to see pics, and i'm in the process of obtaining a second set of RS wheels, so I'd be willing to possibly trade someone for some GT rims too. We'll see how it goes as I'm powdercoating the MY00's and don't know what I'll do with the MY99's.

Thanks - Jon

My '99 Legacy 2.5 GT Limited has Gold wheel spokes on a 205/55 Bridgestone tyre. Really discusting looking on a Silver car. I would be neverous about the 1/2 width variation between the two tyres though.

If you are willing maybe you could trade them for my MY00 silver rims, may look a bit better on your silver car. I wouldn't worry to much on the width since most people tend to go with at least 7 inch wheels anyway and it should give you a little bit more grip also. I have a picture of them above in previous reply. I also have the same tires as you do 205/55 Bridgestone. Im willing to cover all shipping costs as well.

If anybody is worried about running the RS wheels on a GT don't. I have been running 99 RS wheels with stock tire size 205/55/16 (same as the GT) with no problem. You don't need any spacers they are the same offset just a wider wheel.

Oh, I just reread your post. You still won't have any problems putting the GT wheels on your RS. There is a guy with a RS here that bought some GT wheels for winter.

Note: the GT wheels weigh 5lbs more than 98-99 RS and probably 6 or 7lbs more than 02 wheels.
