While thats true. At any point above that spec'ed temperature the 2nd number will be influencing the viscosity. Which is why at cold start temps that people outside of the arctic circle could experience the 0W20 is a lower viscosity than the 0W40 and the 5W40 isnt too far off from the 0W40.

I'm using amsoil 5w30 all year. used rosella t6 before and it was a bit quieter. i guess i just want to stay with spec oil for warranty purposes.
