Default Should utec show any values in dashboard when not connected to the car?

I bought a used utec and I don't have the time to put it into the car but when connected to it via serial port it shows some values in dashboard,
like 73-74% TPS, 6-10% boost and etc, why?
is it supposed to do that or something is wrong?

does it really matter? Don't worry about it until you put it in your car and doesn't work properly. It's a 5 minute install, it's not the end of the world if you throw it in and something's wrong. Try it out before getting upset....

It shows values because you have open inputs on several integrated circuits. Several of which are very sensitive and very inconsistant in production accuracy (thus the need for several user settings instead of them auto-adjusting.) Things will happen to those inputs dues to micro-volt fluctuations, and with open inputs it's seeing that from ambient RF off monitors, lights, the sun, static. It could display any number of odd readings.

Just be carefull that you are grounded and don't static the box to death. Best way... just put it in. If nothing else you can set everything to ECU until you learn all the in and outs.
