is anyone using it or can someone give me some feed back on it. I'm paying around $100 for my Shaw HDTV and around $70 for my Telus phone and internet. I'm thinking about moving everything to Telus; $93 for everything. getting PO at Shaw

Telus TV is pretty good. Telus internet speed and service sucks.

I switched to Telus TV years ago, never looked back to Shaw.
I pay around $120/month for Optik TV with all HD channels, phone and internet. I was paying more than that for regular def Shaw. |

I have Optik TV at their 15mb internet. One thing with Telus internet is the speeds may be slower when compared to Shaw but your internet speed is consistent, Telus does not throttle torrents/p2p and they don't enforce their bandwidth caps.

I've had Telus Optik for about a year now and am happy with it. Haven't tried the new Shaw EXO set top boxes but the Telus user interface is way more slick than the previous Shaw ones.

the thing that concerns me about optik tv is that my apartment isn't prewire for it like the cable was. are they going to have to run cables all through the suite, especially if I want a tv in my bedroom as well as my living room?

the Telus guy said they can use the existing coaxial cables once they pull the optic signal in so you don't need to rewire. We just have one TV at the moment so didn't have to do that.
TV has been fine, but I've had some issues with the internet cutting out or slow. I've had great luck getting awesome deals with telus over the last 6ish years and never once signed a contract but now they've told me to suck it up and pay full price. Times for a quick change back to Shaw shortly then switch back. I like how they think that I won't switch and have a day or two of disruption to save my self like 400-500 bucks a year..... anyone have a Shaw hd pvr kicking around? |

I've had Shaw phone, internet, and TV for quite a while now.
I've got the faster 15mbps internet, all the HD channels, and all the bells and whistles on the phone and I pay about $220/month. I called into shaw about a 1.5-2 years ago and asked what with this Telus offer I had in the mail. The lady gave me 2 free PVR's, increased my internet and lowered my monthly bill! But for some reason, I'm still feeling like I'm paying a bit too much for what I have.... I just havn't had the time to really sit down and compare between the two. |

Here's a small tip, just do internet and cable and don't sign up for a land line, since Telus runs everything through phone lines, they have to hook up the land line at your residence just to run the other services. When I switched to Telus, I only did internet/cable but when I finally got around to plugging in a phone for the enterphone downstairs, to our surprise we had a dial tone! It will do outgoing and incoming. Since I never signed up for a land line, Telus can't charge me anything! I didn't realize this until my buddy who works at Telus told me the whole thing! LOL!

I hate shaw. HATE. But I suppose that there are people out there with horror stories for all of the major telcos and 'net providers. Shaw and Rogers are on my personal ***** list.
I've been using Telus for both mobile service and internet for a couple of years now and I've had no complaints. They made a billing error once and a (not-so-quick) phone call straightened that out. They refunded the extra *and* gave me a month credit. I don't have optik, though. I have their Turbo 25 service and it is FAST. I don't subscribe to cable ... just netflix ... so I didn't see the need for Optik. My landlord has their tv and internet service, though, and he raves about it. |

changed to telus about 2 years ago. its been great.
while we have had some scheduling hiccups with service, i had similar hiccups with shaw as well. the difference being that whenever i get mad at telus they fall over themselves offering me free services, or just plain paying my bill for me. the first time the guy came to install he didn't have the right equipment, and couldn't come back until the next week. i complained up the chain and they offered to pay the first 3 months of my bill. when i told shaw i was thinking about switching the man on the phone acted like shaw didn't want my business, basically told me that if i didn't want shaw's services, to switch already and stop wasting his time. |

Cancelled my service right then and there. Of course ever since I switched to Telus I've been getting by-weekly junk mail from Shaw offering all kinds of stuff... no thanks.Probably the best thing to do now is switch back and forth to whomever has the best offer. |

I know what my land line number is. If you subscribe then decide to cancel, your number doesn't change, they just stop charging you. The service continues but they can't do anything about that. I guess, they hope people won't find out? |
