The purpose of this forum is to see what others may have paid so I can negotiate a decent price. People on this forum act like they paid for their car with cash. I wonder how many people needed a co-signer or have mommy and daddy on their title.

Welcome to NASIOC. You won't get a straight answer. If you want to buy a Wrx, than go negotiate. Tell them what you want to pay, if they don't do it, give them your number and walk. You will get a call within 24 hours.
Ps. Do not let this forum give you any idea about the Subaru community at large. Your local Subaru people are normally friendly and ready to help. But this question has probably been asked about every Wrx/sti since they started hitting our shores. Hence the Smart asses, (i am one too but only in real life). Moral of the story, Make your own deal, be happy. |

Nah, it's not that they are rude, it's just NASIOC, been in existence since 2002 models hit the shores and started for sale. Same question asked over and over gets people going. Why? Cause they got nothing better to do. I find it amusing at times. But I use this forum for entertainment. Some take it to another level, and there is always some noob asking the same question asking for the flame torch. Just like any other car forum. Not saying you are a car noob. But people take join dates serious around here. ( insert sarcasm.)

Then a few months down the road they come on here complaining about how their dealer wants $xxx for maintenance and how its so unreasonable and how life is unfair. Then they want to make 300whp on a budget and get mad that people tell them to research and talk about how NASIOC is full of jerks who won't answer a question that has been asked a million times (even stickied in some cases) and that thread goes on for a few pages of whining and complaining. Then they decide to go out buy all these cheap knock off products without properly researching and come on here and complain about how the fit and finish of their cheap parts is terrible and they can't contact the seller because the seller folded up and walked away, or is located overseas somewhere. Rinse Repeat............... |

Mikey, there are a few things I can tell you.
Don't go in looking for a payment. There's nothing a sales person wants to see more than a customer who wants to talk payment. I have friends who did that years ago after happy hour (derp). They walked out with a new civic. I looked at their payment and term....they easily could have walked out with a new Corvette with the payment they had. Sales uses a 4 square system. The whole thing is designed to make you focus on the monthly payment. Don't do it. Tell them going in that you're paying cash and you have no trade. You want a price. Nothing more. Once you get to a price, say.....you know, I may want to trade my car after all. Why do you do that? Because then you'll know what they're actually giving you for the trade. When they come back with a trade number, you negotiate some more. They say 10 on the trade and (to make a number) 27 for the new car. It's not out of line to say....well, my car and 15 and I'll do it. Let them negotiate from there. (I'm just picking numbers) Don't be afraid to lowball. Know what your car's numbers are. My wife's car.....I was prepared to trade her old outback plus $13k. I threw the car plus $10k and they didn't blink. Came back with 10.9. I said ok, but they had to buy and install new snows. They agreed. If you negotiate with a trade on a monthly payment, you are going to get screwed. Screwed, screwed, screwed. |

Eww, so much hate... I got my wrx hatch last month, premium with the popular package 1 and all weather mats, paid $28300 for it, which is 400 less than what true car.com said I should pay. I too financed over long period with 12k deposit, 72 months @ 2.4%, $250.00 monthly. As a rule I always do that, I think that's smart, I always pay in 2 years or less because I get bored making payments, but at such low interest, why not use ur money towards ur mortgage or something that makes u money?

OP I paid 24,200 to start before tax title and fees. My only options were fogs and mirror with home link. I got a killer deal back on 8/13- well under invoice
I paid over half my car on the down payment and have very low monthly payments for 60 months at 2.9% It'll be paid for in a little over a year and a half or so.(I will over pay monthly) edit: I bought a base (obviously) Last edited by SenorDucK; 01-12-2013 at 01:06 AM. |

Fog lights Vortex generator Short shifter Durocon shift knob 2.1% rate 48 months After money down, getting the car for list and getting the accessories for free... $18,073 48 months was a little long for the deal i got but i did it so the payments are manageable plus I've already payed off the interest for the loan so all my payments are 100% to principle then i make double payments, i should have it finished in two years hopefully. |

Thanks j-hop, Jeff and everyone who replied. I really appreciate you guys helping me out. I may put a good down payment down to tackle down the monthly payments.
I currently have two dealerships fighting over me which creates a better figure for me in the long run. |

If it works for you then that's all that matters. I was going to get a limited edition but going to get a base instead. My wife starts graduate school in the fall... And with our baby coming we decided to go a little basic at first to be safe. The WRX will be our only car payment so that helps. |

I dont need to have a fancy car to show off what I had. I paid cash for a 2011 STI and turned around and sold it for what I paid for it, I prefered to have the money tied up in my businesses. I simply went off this post. Quote:

Lol...most med students don't even have one job and those that do barely have time to work part time. Most people who have 1 business work 14 hour days for that ONE business. Yet you own and operate three and go to med school full time?
You must be a genius. What are the websites for all three businesses? I'm interested to see what you have going. I could learn so much with someone who is able to manage 30 hours of work within the 16 hours they're awake. |

2 of businesses dont have websites (not all businesses require or benefit from) and run themselves. I have good managerial staff and my work requirement is limited.
My photography business can be found at KHDPhoto.com, however the website is grossly outdated and an overhaul is currently being contracted. http://facebook.com/khdphoto I sleep ~3-4 hours a night. Last edited by vision.dynamix; 01-12-2013 at 11:49 AM. |

Jesus man. You know being in the medical field...that your body isn't producing all the chems necessary to keep you sane right? You're going to go nuts if you don't get at least 6 hrs.
But I was genuinely curious on the business ventures...especially since having just 1 is hard to juggle, and people generally don't do well who are in med school AND have to work. |

My body is all kinds of effed up. During the summer Im on the road working on projects, with a few major ones. I'll have a week of 1-2 hour nights followed by 12-14 hours of sleep in a night. Then back to the 3-4 hours until the next project.
More than 5 hours of sleep on a regular basis makes me groggy from too much sleep. My businesses are in the cosmetology industry. I have salons and also consult for other salon owners and perspective salon owners on building/improving theirs, and on occasion build new salons to sell. Its a heavy load, at times too heavy (when multiple deadlines overlap), but I get literally bored with any less. |
