I haven't, but that is only because I never heard of a Bear Mountain meet. You do mean at Bear Mountain state park in Rockland county right?

How about a Saturday afternoon? Meet up early and then go for a nice back road drive, then head to Bear Mtn for a BBQ!

Yeah every Wed evening around 6-630 who ever wants to meet and show off their car meet in front of the ice skating rink. If you want to show your car its $5 for the year(I think). Usually people stay till it gets dark out. Also its only if its not raining...but you knew that

And last time I was there, It was also my 1st time, There was a band playing music and food and prizes...I dont know if they do that every week but it was nice.

OK. Now I get it. It's a "all kinds of cars" car meet
I used to live near there and it is still close enough for me to head down after work sometime. I'll be looking for the Sube's.

A Saturday back road drive sounds good too.

Are you the guys that were parked up on the hill?

And it would be kool if we could meet up somewhere and all go together. I dunno if I would bring my subie, shes kinda beat up and aint much of a show car, but I could bring my 73 Nova.

Talking So start a caravan!

I go about once a month because you see many of the same cars. No we weren't on the hill. Last week with approx 800 cars and 300 bikes there were only 2 scooby's, mine and one bone stock black one. ERAAB212 took the WRX and I took the Vette.
There are many more old and muscle cars. The music is from the 50's and 60's which makes me feel right at home and the food is edible.
I have posted before about trying to get a caravan to meet and then go but nobody seem interested enough. You've got to get there before 7PM to get a good spot on the front lawn - if you come late you get the hill.
Yes there are prizes, a 50/50 raffle and I've been in the show about 4 times including last year and never paid a cent. Registration costs nothing.

Exactly where *is* this bear mountain you guys speak of? I've heard some bike guys talk about it on bike boards, but no one ever says where it is... i suppose eveyone else must know by now, that its moot to discuss that... what city/state/address is this place. Got direx?

Thanks,
Jon.

The park is located about 50 miles north of New York City at the intersection of the Palisades Parkway and Route 9W.

MissWRX - While being nominated by a pretty young lady does wonders for my old worn out ego I'm really not the guy who organizes the Red Rooster meets. I only jump in during the winter.
If I see that there is some real interest I will jump in and help out.
Biggest problem is getting a staging area, since we'd be coming from all directions, so we can all go in at once and attract some attention. If I get a chance I'll try to take a ride around there to see if there is a good place.

I only live 15 min from Bear Mt so maybe tomarrow Ill take a look for a place where we can meet up too. What would be a good guestamit of how many people will be going so I dont look for areas too small? Like 7-10 cars?

Sounds great. I would figure about 15 cars. That's what we get on a good meet at 7 Stars/Red Rooster Meet. Don't forget you can look south on 9W before Bear Mountain and North towards Highland. As long as it's not too far we can meet almost anywhere - even if we can pull onto the side of the road.
With the big Tri State meet this month I think we should hold off till September - Bear Mtn. goes on till end of October if I remember correctly.
