Default Need help with an blown engine!!!

Well most of you should know that about a month ago I blew my engine and after I searched around for an ej25d the cheapest I could find was about 2700 with shipping. Which for an engine is nothing but bullcrap. Well I took my engine apart for the most part and I had serious mechanical fail. I had 1 bent valve, three broken valves, two pistons in the firing order smashed against the head and both the pistons are cracked and broken off. I have a piston ring in one of my valve ports and chucks of a piston in the other. But the main thing I'm asking is what all do I need to switch from DOHC to SOHC. The DOHC is to expensive and I have time on my hands. So would it just be a SOHC ECU and engine, that I swap out or what else is their. Because I can find a SOHC way cheaper. But find the ECU might be a different story. If anybody could help that would be great. And for pictures I'm still working on that. The lighting has been bad to take good pics.

JOSH

Do you just want a replacement motor or a new motor with power?

if you want a reg motor you can get a complete WRX motor for around the mid to high 2000's. A Forester XT motor will run you 3000 from gruppe S.

I'ma get the FXT motor cuz the guy told me it was basically an STi motor with a different turbo, intercooler and tuning, and a slightly differetn crank.

I don't want to swap engine besides a DOHC 2.5 to a normal SOHC 2.5 N/A. I don't plan on doing anything more to my car besides a daily driver.

From what I inderstand, the differences in the DOHC/SOHC are the MAP sensor on the SOHC intake manifold, which you wouldn't need if you keep your same ECU. Also the cam sensor may be in a different position that may or may not require some work to get the wires to reach. Fuel injector to plug harness interface will require slight modding, such as grinding down the locator grooves. Other than that, you shouldn't have much trouble swapping out to a SOHC motor with the same wiring you currently have.

MY1999 used MAF on the SOHC 2.5's.
