Default Please help: Bulb behind fan control doesn't work

The lightbulb behind the fan control knob on my dashboard doesn't light up. The other bulb (behind the knob that controls where the hot air is directed) does, so I assume the bulb is just burnt out (please correct me if I'm wrong!).

Since I was putting in a new car stereo (my first time -- thank you, thank you very much) anyway, I figured I might as well go ahead and take a look at that light too.

However, it seems to me to be absurdly difficult to replace that bulb. So I guess I have two questions.

1. Is probably the bulb, or is there another reason those bulbs commonly fail to light?

2. If I need to change the bulb can anyone tell me exactly how that's done? Do I need some kind of special tool?

Any guidance would be gratefully appreciated.

somewhere there's a guide to changing the color of the bulbs, I'd assume you'd just follow those instructions for changing a bulb. But I cant remember if it was here or on scoobymods or rs25.com or...

OK I'll look around for it. BTW, I notice you're the same person who helped me out with my post about installing the car stereo over in that forum. You're the man!
