Default 10's on pump alone?

Has anyone here done it? From what searching I have done, it seems to be pretty hard for the Subaru platform to make it there on pump(up to 94oct) alone. Most everyone seems to be using meth as well. Evo's are killing the 10's on pump. What is the roadblock for Subaru's?

11.0 here as well on pumpgas..

Honestly I think gearing is really playing a role in this. If John didn't have to shift 5th and could just hold out 4th, he would be in the 10.7-8 range on pump alone.. and I still feel that being conservative.
Another factor is that while revving an EVO to 9k is common, doing that to a subie is not... So making that up top power that keeps you moving down the track is not all there.. Mean while the EVO will make more power further out were it actually counts.

i thought subie's were able to achieve greater rpm due to the opposed setup, apparently not the case.

I know John is going to make it, I just haven't seen to many. I am seeing the 11.0's, but I am talking definate 10's like 10.8 and below. I can see the points with the Evo's though.

You can make a flat 4 rev to 12,000 RPM, if you want.

Just plan on rebuilds every 1/4 mile.

I think with better gearing you can get into the 10's maybe even 9's but who has the money and time?

Its been done, last night John went 10's on pumpgas. And just in case you were wondering that's pumpgas with NO water OR meth injection.

Yep, well aware. Read the thread and also know him personally. I guess I am viewing it as it should not be so hard? Damn Evo's... There are as many of them in the 10's as there are Subaru's in the 11's lol. Sadly enough, I used to have one. I like the challenge though. I am going to through some slicks on my car next summer and hope for the best. 10'? I dunno, maybe. Have to see how my driving skills are. Having the power is no good if you do not know how to use it.
