Unhappy Serious Engine Knock!!!!!

I run a MY99 turbocharged 2.5Rs at 5psi. Last night I went to take off and spun my clutch. I banged off the rev limiter in 1st and 2nd atleast 5 or 6 times. Now it sounds like a spun a bearing in cylinder 3. Anybody have this problem and what do u think it is????

Ouch, ouch, ouch! Be prepared for a good engine tear-down. It's not fun, but it's not too hard either. :-/

Usually engines can stand bouncing off the rev limiter I wonder why your engine couldn't

When I opened mine up for a knocking noise I was greeted by 4 broken pistons, and needed a full valve job.

Mine was from overboosting though. Hopefully yours will be a prettier site when you get it opened up.

Default Spun Bearing

I spun a bearing in a high compression 2.5l. it sounded horrible. it was a mix between a knock and squeal. get ready to spend $300+ on bearings plus you will need to have your rod resized and crank turned.
