Default Flashing CEL

Ok so I researched this and every one I found seemed to be when the engine was running.

I jumped in the 05 sti today just to start it up as I do every once in a while since its garaged, i noticed before I started it that the CEL is flashing. It doesnt stop as long as the key is engaged. Also the fan keeps turning on and off. Of course this has to happen the day someone says they will buy my car... Anyway, anyone know what this could be? Im assuming its probably a cheap fix. Engine is brand new so cant be that.

Also, how much would it cost to fix engine thats misfiring?

My CEL's go away on just a random errands around town.... any time you turn the car on and off three times, if the problem does not exist anymore, it will go away.. But for a blinking CEL, that doesnt sound good. Jay, call up conti and ask for jerry or dale.

sounds like what happens when you have the green test connectors under the dash hooked up for an AP reflash.

reflashed lately and forget to unhook those connectors?

possibly if someone was installing the radio other than the owner they could have said, "hey theres a couple connectors that arent hooked up, maybe i should hook em up for him"

i know i know, it sounds far fetched hehe.

you'll get it figured out jay

yeah but installing a radio, they shouldn't be anywhere near the wires...
unless you installed an amp in the trunk, then the power wire would need to come through the firewall.. very possible... mine are plugged in all the time lol i have them on a toggle switch. works pretty damn good for tuning..
