Heater problem
Now that its nice and cold and snowy, it seems that my heater doesn't work well at all. It takes forever(a good 10-15 minutes or driving, not idling) for engine to get all the way heated up and even then the air coming out is only just more than lukewarm. Before it gets up to running temp, the air is basically cool.
The extra long heating up time leads me to beleive the thermostat is stuck open, which is easy enough to fix. The lukewarm air leads me to beleive the mechanism for selecting hot/cold/ somewhere in between air temp. is not working properly. Which is scary to me because it is, more than likely, buried somewhere deep under the dash and therefore a pain in the ass to get to. Or did they just put terrible heaters in the older subarus, which i gues isn't that bad because that means i dont have to fix anything. Anyone have a similar problem and/or know whats wrong? Thanks, Ken |

I know the temp lever gear goes bad in alot of older Imprezas. In fact even her in Florida we keep a couple of them in stock.
I highlighted the gear Im talking about. Part # 72323FA000. |
