Questions about intercooler spray
Hey all, I have a few questions regarding intercooler water spray kits
1. Whats involved in making one. I have a spare wiper tank and nozzles with the pump and everything. Can this be made into a waterspray kit? 2. What kind of gains does this actually give? Is it worth even doing? I see the MRT and vivid kits go for anywhere from 150 to $300. Is it possible to do with what I have and what will I gain thanks in advance -Justin

yeah it should work. Basically the gain you get is the water cools off the intercooler. If you have the pump and tank then you should be good to go. I would just try to study the MRT kits to see how they place the sprayers. Save you a lot of money!

A few early generation WRX's had holes in the scoop for this particular reason. If you have those you are LUCKY! But if not its still possible. The reason that they were there was because the euro spec has a sprayer. If it gets super cold, i was wondering whether people use antifreeze in the spray.

There's no need to spend huge loot on this. I picked up this washer kit at Princess Auto (do they have those in the states?) for next to nothing.
It includes everything, tank, pump, hoses, nozzels, wiring, button... The tank is on the small side, and it would be a strictly manual setup. If you had the time and resources, it wouldn't be hard to wire in a circut to monitor boost or TPS position and use that as a switch. I bought like a dozen of these for some freinds. -Pete |

I am interested in your ideas about how to set it up with a certain boost level...PM me with some ideas if you could |
