Trying to pick next tire/wheel combo
I am trying to decide what tire and wheel combo to try next. I would like to jump to 235s for that little extra width, but I don't want to deal with any rubbing what-so-ever and I don't want to roll my fenders. I imagine I shouldn't have problems with 235s and 8" or 8.5" rims?
I currently have 225-45-17 PS2s on the stock STi rims. I love the tire in general, but the side wall is a touch softer than I'd like. So I was thinking maybe sticking with that tire but moving to an 18" rim would help. Anyone have these in 18 inchers? Anyway, the above combos are what I'm thinking about. Let me know if you have used them, what you thought, whether they rubbed, etc. etc. etc. I do plan on moving over to pink springs (or similar), so I need to know if the drop will cause the above rub as well. I plan on taking them to road tracks at least 4 times a year. Other than that, they need to be a decent day to day tire that doesn't slide around too much in wet weather. I also don't want a tire that gets too slick when hot (as I've heard the Azenis do?).

BTW, if anyone has a combo they think is better for what I am looking for, then feel free to post it.

Go with The Volk GT-7 18x8 wrapped in BFG-KDW2. 225 should be fine...even with your drop. The pkg will be a little costly...approx 2800...but absolutely worth every penny
