Are people posting their own cars, or just random video's from YouTube?

Man... Is it sad that I'm considering raising the limiter even higher to try and get in on the fun here.. 8250rpms only got me to about 95-97mph in 3rd lol... power is strong up there, but I don't know if the motor will stay together if I keep turning it up... I'm trying to do a 50-100 in just 3rd gear hehe....

Uh oh, this is getting serious. People considering risking their motors for a made up internet record, lol. Why not try one in 3rd and 4th? Although, with my 5 speed gearing I was considering trying one in just 3rd, but I'm a bit out of my powerband at 50mph in 3rd...

I am too... only like 4k at 50... it will spool while break boosting but it's not making real power until 5k. Was thinking about trying it several ways, 1 gear, 2 gears, and then using all 3 just to compare...

Yes, for a slow shifter like myself, 3rd gear alone was by far the fastest with the 5MT. My built motor from MPS easily turns 7500 rpm.

On my car 1st is up to about 40mph, 2nd is about 70mph and 3rd is about 100mph. I compared a 1st, 2nd, 3rd pull vs. a brake boosted 2nd, 3rd pull and they were essentially identical (only 3/100th's of a second different). This is expected because 1st isn't in the 50-100mph range.

I've also done runs where I shifted early out of 3rd and used a bit of 4th (due to lower redline at the time). These are about 1/3 of a second slower. That is approx. how long it takes me to do a shift, so that makes sense too.

Lastly, I've done 30-100mph runs all in 3rd (boost is flying past 15psi at 50mph, so no fully spooled). These are slightly slower than the 2nd, 3rd gear runs. The 2nd gear run are way ahead from 50-70mph, but then the shift makes them very close to even again. If I brake boosted hard in 3rd it might be able to produce a quicker time, but probably not much.

Yeap! its getting colder around here as soon as I get my tranny I back I am going to add more timing. I wonder what will an extra 50whp do to my times

Yeah i cant wait for it to get not in the 90's so i can run more boost and add the 4-5* timing back in that was removed when i upgraded from my og green to the dom. Oversized TMIC and 98 degree outside temps were playing nice with my tune. I need a Front mount. lol

It's been in the 60's lately and now my times are finally back down to where they were right after the motor swap (my 4.5s video was done when it was probably 40-50F).

I hear you guys.... last night I took my car out for a bit, temps dipped into the 50's... first time I've seen over 500whp on the virtual dyno (virtual dyno setting)... 475 on airboy on several back to back runs... feels pretty strong at about 3300 pounds full of fuel w/ me in it.

Man if I can make it to the track with temps like that and no head wind it should go fast if it stays together

Well that should be faster than me, even if you do use two gears (like I have been). Go out and give it a shot!

I wish my car would get done so I can get in on this. I'm gonna need to buy a cutting wheel and go to town on my trunk and door panels first though..

2009 STI, E85, Arizona summer (110F ambient with 18% humidity, 135F IAT, 204F coolant temp about 30 minutes of freeway driving prior to the pull). No knock encountered, which makes me feel happy about my tune. I was going slightly uphill on a long freeway offramp, which I suppose is better than downhill. First and last data points I'm using are at 32.31,49.09 and 39.62,100.66 for about 7.31 seconds 50-100.

Parts list:
Full weight (3/4 full tank, with fat driver) - ~3600 lbs
P&L Catted TurboXS downpipe
P&L HiFlo intake
1000CC DW injectors
P&P VF48
44mm EWG - venting to atmosphere
Stock Catback
Spearco TMIC - heat taped

Doing a 3rd gear virtual dyno run in these conditions after only 10 minutes of driving yields 290 whp (IAT 120F, Coolant 185F). Tuned by Junior, 342/374 at 72F ambient (asked for something conservative).

For comparison, here's a 4th gear pull I did for a virtual dyno test back in January in IL (completely flat farm road, 27F Ambient, IAT never higher than 40F ). The un-SAE corrected numbers according to VD are something silly like 380 whp. This purely 4th gear run is actually faster than my summer run by about 0.4 seconds - 6.82 seconds 50-100.

http://i46.tinypic.com/1e2r6d.png

vvv I feel you - I'll happily roll down my window here at 90-95 and think it feels almost nice out, compared to a 95F/80%+ day in IL. You can really feel that 18% when it hits 115 though, I don't care who you are - and it's always 20 degrees hotter than that inside a car with black leather and suede. A/C on but it doesn't matter

The main list is now updated. I updated the format so it's a littler easier to see the 50-100mph times without having to scroll back and forth.

I feel bad about some of them, because I know they aren't their best times (ie. flooring it at 50mph and waiting for spool). Especially alcoolaid's car (the one that PROcede posted) because that's his daily tune and he just pinned it at 50mph, so even on that tune it would have done a lot better with brake boosting or a running 50mph.

Ok here is mine from tonight. The 3-4 shift sucks because I'm so close to not needing it, and leaving at that low of an RPM in 3rd isn't helping either... I'm sure I could find some other excuses (full tank of fuel etc.) but regardless, here it is...

The 1/4th of mile of speeding bullet is incorrect the trap speed is suppose to be 139mph

The list has info from the old setup. 139 trap was with the new setup. I'll try to pull a 50-100 time from Fuji's speedo video from the track.
