how's the job market looking right now for you recent grads? you'd be foolish in most cases to put an AWD car away for the winter. as much as you'd like to save your STI forever, i would have beaten the crap out of it already because it's a car. i can always buy another. |

It doesnt matter if you have AWD if you dont have ground clearance. Plus I never said anything about saving my STI forever I just do not like having 4k in suspension parts sitting in snow and salt. My STI gets beat on plenty, its why I built the car. It sees its fair share of auto-x events and track days. Last edited by gixxer7fiddy; 09-15-2011 at 09:44 AM. |

Wasn't too difficult to find a job. I had one lined up and started the week after graduation. Still get called/emailed now and then since my resume is still floating around there somewhere.

I miss having two vehicles, but then again insurance is cheaper now. I thought about garaging my car this winter but then Id have to walk. Thats just not ideal. I just ordered some continental extreme contact dws tires to put on the stock enkeis for winter. Anyone drive on those? Had good ratings on tirerack and also consumer reports, and compared to others are decently priced, plus they got a free gps offer going on.
Anyone here in grad school? I'm looking for mba programs to start in the next year. I'm considering part time programs. I picked up a book to study for the gmat about a month ago and its sat next to my computer unopened. I just haven't gotten motivated enough to start studying but I need refreshers on math. I dunno how the job market is for recent grads, but it sucks for pretty much everyone. I'm looking for jobs myself. The Milwaukee and Chicago areas can be tricky to get into if you're not a banker or engineer. If you are in engineering Ive seen a lot of recent posts in companies such as GE Medical here in Tosa, Siemons in IL, and Sigma Aldrich has been hiring if you're a chemist. The railway industry for companies such as BNSF and Union Pacific have lots of opportunities. Thats all it seems to be though, opportunities. Lots of companies have jobs listed but it takes for ever for them to finally hire, and if you dont know someone at the company it can be difficult to get a referral and have your resume noticed among the billion others that were submitted online. |

Also, I definitely think the job market is better than recent years for grads. I graduated in May and started at Northwestern Mutual a week later continuing an internship I had there. My gf just took her GMAT a couple weeks ago and never opened the studying materials she bought. |

As long as we're on the topic...what are you guys/girls running for winter tires this winter? I'm looking into swapping my all seasons (old version conti extremes with ~9,000 miles) on my stock wheels for some real winter tires.
