I understand the feeling, tore my meniscus skating, little kid skated into me and hugged the lower half of my leg and held it in place while the rest of my body and upper leg spun 180... not fun while looking like a fool. Lucky for me after and MRI and arthroscopic surgery no need to fully open the knee up. Get yourself a good supportive knee brace for future sporting and keep and eye on it. This was back in 2000 and it still bothers me to this day if I am not wearing the brace while being active.

Now besides that, keep up the killer work on the car!

I picked up a cheap brace this weekend, can tell a big difference with it. But as pain goes, i have no pain in my knee, just the mcl is a little sore when trying to straighten my leg, and still cant fully bend it. But my knee that isn't injured still aches and hurts when the weather changes... so i still say my knee with a blown acl / mcl and meniscus is my good knee haha. Still can't believe its tore up that bad but oh well, will get fixed when i have pain with it.

Don't mean to totally derail...but here i go anyway...
Make sure your knee isn't just faking you out-tore my meniscus rock climbing 2 years ago
After a couple weeks of instability and pain, it sort of got better and I didn't feel like going to the doc for it
Long story short, it never got all the way right, so I went in, had it opened up and cleaned out, and dealt with the rehab. Ortho doc said the pain had lessened because it was stabilized by scar tissue, and spending 8 weeks walking around on it had eliminated any chance he might have had to repair it-all he could do was clean out the mess, leaving me with less than half a meniscus.
Then he told me I'll need a knee replacement by the time I'm 40, 50 if I'm really lucky
Just saying...don't let the lack of pain or feeling of stability fool you into thinking it's really healing...

I've never had any pain or instability in my knee the whole time, just my mcl sore. Also the other docs i've talked to said to let the mcl heal first before any kind of other knee surgery to take place. I was walking on my knee the same night it happened and the next day, just mcl was extremely sensitive. Thats why i went in was for my mcl to get checked out. But trust me if i had any pain on the inside joint area, yes id be getting it fixed asap. I still have some swelling, but nothing major. From what i've been told, my mcl will take about 4 months for it to totally heal back up.

got started on pulling the dash out so i can finish all my firewall mods, and finish mounting the AN-bulk heads. Then I can get the engine bay painted and start putting it back together.

I have yet to find my digital camera to update this thread. Everything is coming along nicely. Actually changed my front cradle for yet the 3rd time. noticed a little warpage in the area where the control arm mounts are. both sides are the same, but i ditched it, and ordered a some thicker DOM tubing from stockcarsteel.com, Much better quality of tubing and no worries with any warping when welding. Also had so new control arm tabs cut as well. Little nicer to work with. Also changed the lower control arm slightly. But so far, much happier with this cradle setup, everything is spot on, within 1/16" tolerances.

How are things coming along? Firewall mods and cradle nearly buttoned up? Good luck with the final pieces.

Yea, finished pulling the dash and interior harness. Welded the -10 bungs onto the heater core. Engine stuck back in to finish making fuel lines and installing all the bulk heads. Still just doing all the small things thats taking forever... Like my friend said today, hes never been involved with a car that's so time consuming. But its slowly but surely coming along.
