Default Daddy's SCP/MadDad - We're back..did we ever leave?

Some of you who have been part of this forum as far back as 2003(when we joined as a vendor) know exactly who we are, others might know the name by various other threads/members. However until today, it's been almost 2 years (2 years this February) since we posted or have been active on the forum. The crazy part is, as an advertiser we never really left, we continued to be a paid advertiser, and we've continued to develop and refine the products we make for your Subaru(and for some BMW now). So why did we dissappear?

The short answer is bandwidth...or lack of it. Daddy's/MadDad has always been a small family business and I've always had the brunt of the work and literally just could not keep up, so something had to give and it was the time spent on Nasioc. The lousy part which is somewhat embarrassing at this point is how we just disappeared from the forum yet we were still active in some other avenues. Some of that diverted time was needed to expose/build the brand in the BMW community. That meant a lot of time in the BMW 1 Series forum where we introduced several parts for the BMW 135i.(where the Whisper rules as the no drone king). However....our roots and primary focus is still Subaru and we no longer need to tell the BMW folks who we are..they know now.

In the time we've been "gone" we introduced the GR STi Whisper Catback, which has seen 2 revisions and being reintroduced next month in a totally re-engineered model that will reset the bar for a quiet 3" catback. You California folks will flip over it.

We introduced the first GR series Boost gauge with a white needle. Last month we introduced the matching oil pressure and egt with the white needle.

Next week you'll see the new GR STi Street Series turboback, in development for the past year and quite possibly the best looking catback available, along with a new GR series 200cpi metal substrate downpipe.

The significance of this downpipe is the 200cpi cat. Most of the metal substrate downpipes today, include our own GR V2 series use 300cpi cats. So the this new GR catted bellmouth will be a great choice for you folks running very high HP applications where the highest flowing but high quality(metal substrate) cat is needed.

Moving into 2011, January will see a long awaited GR WRX Hatch Whisper axleback/catback

Q1 of 2011 will see development of the very long awaited GR Sedan Whisper catback.

The point is we've never stopped our Subaru commitment/development. Our Facebook page has photos and updates on all these products, be sure to "friend" us to get all the updates.

One thing moving forward that will change is our PM box. In the past it was just too difficult to follow a thread of conversation via a string of PM's so moving forward the PM box is closed, so just email us at [email protected] . You'll be seeing us on a weekly basis from today on. Catch you in the forums......

Glad you're back! I've been afraid to purchase anything wondering if there was going to be a lack of support. I have a prodrive axleback on my FXT, and it drones like mad! and am looking for something else.

Although we've been away from this forum for a while we've always been alive and kickin , I think the list of products we've been working on are a pretty good indication of that. We're definately one of the few that does a real dedicated FXT exhaust(not just a WRX muffler with appropriate hangers, but a purpose built FXT muffler section). Most WRX performance mufflers are too small to properly dampen the sound(in the cabin) with the SUV body style.

I have your Whisper catback system and droning is no longer a concern. I had a lot of droning noise with Borla Hush.

Great products.

If I could somehow post this announcement as a signature; everytime I recommend Maddad, I get the response that you are no longer around or you never answer PMs.

The gauge that is in the opening pic is as plain as we make, its not a combo gauge just a regular boost gauge(with adjustable warning). Its availalbe in either Green/Red pointer, Amber/Red pointer, and Amber/White pointer. The 3in1 combo is still pre-production with a hopefull January release(fingers crossed).

Any plans of doing a 2009+ FXT catback? I know the sedan 2008+ WRX will most likely fit, but your thought process with sound control on the earlier model FXT sounds great. Thanks!

Stromung use to make a nice setup for the LGT but they stopped production a long time ago due to lack of demand. I know the Stromung guys pretty well. I'm sure I could get them to pull out the JIG for a run. Might be worth a GB thread. I'll get some pricing and have a discussion with them next week.

I can only assume this in reference to the older v1 or v2 series gauges. In particular the oil pressure senders were the "old school" style design that didn't last very long. The ultra series gauges have always used a better more reliable unit. That's not saying they never need replacement but they are worlds better than what was used in the older gauges, smaller and easier to mount in tight spaces as well. We've been selling ultra series gauges for over 2 years now.

thx for the response Rich. It was never really clear to me what was wrong with the gauges or if it was ever fixed. Your response clears that up.

I've already purchased three gauges and I look forward to putting them in my car.

Is the Axleback design for an STi, the same muffler design as an FXT catback?

I have seen the comments on changes to the Whisper muffler for the newer generation subies -- have there been any changes to the '06/'07 Whisper mufflers?

In regard to the STi axleback vs FTX I am not sure if there are any "internal" differences or any difference at all other hangers. If the question is regard to Maddad exhausts then the answer is yes there is a difference. The alxleback section of our FXT catback is a one-off design we make just for the FXT. It is larger than our WRX/STI version to ensure no drone with the SUV body style/cabin

There have been no changes to the 2002-2007 Whispers. The GR STI Whisper is now in it's 3rd(and I think final) revision. Quieter, larger tips(same as the 2002-2007), staggered tip layout and minor fitment tweaks to accommodate minor heatshield changes for later models. The V3 is awesome. The 2002-2007s have never needed any revisions, they are perfect the way they are , this coming from their father of course

I'll be on the market for a used FXT for a family car in the near future. Rich, you know where I'll be shopping for the exhaust!

hey rich,

I've had your gauges installed for almost a month now. I just came back from my first track event since having them on (VIR with trackdaze.) My gauges are Boost, Oil Pressure, Water Temp. Boost and water temp did great, however the oil pressure gauge is fluctuating like crazy, from maxing out momentarily to where is it sits most of the time, at 0, beeping at me insistently.

ill be getting down in there over the next few days, but no damage or loss of oil occurred the whole weekend. I didn't have to add a drop. The sender is installed in the top rear engine location on my 05 STi.

Please help me diagnose the problem and get it fixed! I want to continue to use your gauges!
