As far as getting serviced there...I'm not so happy about it. The sales guys/gals I talked to didn't know squat about subaru...but I hear there are new ones, so maybe they do.

AutoX? there's no autoX downhere...if you're referring to the PCA, they had their last run of the season last sunday...something about being too hot during the summer. Atleast that's what a friend of mine told me. I haven't checked out their website in a while.

NoHands, it's no SA quality cruise, but you might be the hottest car down here if you do show up. LOL!
Yeah my friend just started selling the Subarus on that lot. It is actually who Clark_M was talking about Job and Richard. Job used to drive an STI, he might not be the most knowledgable on the car, however, he is pretty sympathetic with most subaru enthusiast. I am actually from McAllen, I have only lived here, in San Antonio, for about a year and a half.

Job seemed like a decent guy. Maybe he can give us some discounts or something.

Gillman is who sponsors the TXIC. They have a new one down in Harlingen, i think. They just started to sell Subarus at that location. So the subarus are the latest models, and I want to say its mixed in with their imports like nissian and honda department.

So if there service isnt the greatest, what would it take for one of us to get hired?

From what I understand the one in edinburg is hiring for sure. But they don't really work with schedules and you have to take some sort of certification thing to sell subarus apparently. Well you can just mention that you know Robert to Job and I am sure he will help you out. I am Robert BTW. He also said that their tech was some sort of master tech but I hear this from about every subaru dealership I talk to and all these techs still manage to mess up cars...

If you call scratches on panels, broke both plastic triangle things where the tweeters would go, overfill oil, leave a mess of oil on grille a master tech, then I guess. I've known the guy for years from the other dealership, but maybe he had a bad day?
I got that free oil change service thing, but I think I'm going to start changing my own oil again. :P
Oh, certification just means they pass a test about the different types of subaru models and their trim levels kinda thing.

Anyone know if thats a dealership sponsored thing?

So hopefully will make it down the Valley just after Memorial Day. Going to Dallas to pick up a 2007 Forester Sports 2.5xt on the way down.

that is an older set but it still looks about the same. those are PIAA 520 ions behind the grill. only thing i have changed recently is added a euro plate and switched to a prodrive catback exhaust.

Thats very nice man. It may be the one my wife spotted down in that area.

So the dealership I had planned on buying the fozzie from, sold it last night. Even after I sent many emails and called about a hundred times, asking them to hold it untilk i get out the Marine Corps. They said yes sir, let me go talk to the general manager, we will call you back. Blah blah blah bull****. So I called today and finally got someone reasonable to start the paperwork, he went out to get the vin on it, and it wasnt there. After asking, one his co-workers said it got sold last night. Way to be loyal to the customers.

So, I guess I will still have my gold wagon. Unless I find another one on my way from NC to the valley

bummer man, I hate when they do stuff like that.

Hey, I had a blue fozzie just like these pics up until this past december. I had the STi decals on the front though. It sold pretty quick at the dealership. I haven't seen it around anywhere though.

On another note, the blue paint shows scratches so easily! I think that's the only thing I hated about it.

Huh? It is spelled right...

Anyway, McAllen has some type of new city ordinance about hanging out in certain parking lots now. They were citing people left and right just for parking. :P Looks like they don't like the car scene in the nice part of town, but there's other places we can gather.

The only lifted forester I have seen is a picture on subaruforester.org. That would be a neat project. Be able to assert that horsepower elsewhere, like the mud and sand dunes.
That would be a project worth seeing.

Anyone else currently doing any modifications?

We meet at 10th and Trenton Starbucks, but usually get run out now unless we're sipping coffee. Then head out to the Harbor Freight parking lot further south and hang with the Mustang club. OHHH, there is a section of Military Rd in Sullivan city that Danny and I went "rallying" through this past sunday...all gravel/mud, nice elevation changes, S curves galore, water crossings...we even got chased by the border patrol. Danny pulled over to explain to the guy that I bike around here and we were trying out the trails... hilarious look on the guys face..."In a car?"
If that autoX don't work out, we can take you there.
Rally Armor/Skidplates needed!

Thats badass, and chased by the border patrol!! That had to be an awesome site.
Ive got the rally armors, just not the skidplates.

We got stopped by a game warden once on a restricted air field. He threw a fit. Then the military police showed up since we are all active duty, they laughed. They thought we were a drift club, and had a huge laugh out of the fact it was a bunch of subarus. No one noticed the right hand drive 95 STI. But they seen the mustang in the back, and made fun of that guy and let us all go.

Yeah a border patrol officer started chasing after me after I stopped before a patch of water and mud. I didn't want to risk driving through because I didn't want to damage my bumper. The guy thought it was suspicious that I turned around and headed in the opposite direction so I stopped before it escalated to anything more potentially dangerous. I've just read this last page, but I don't think Scotty has mentioned that I somehow managed to catch a bird in my hoodscoop too. I've removed the bird but a couple of feathers are still in there because I've been too lazy to give the car a much needed scrub down.

My buddy has an 08 STI who managed to catch a bird in his scoop too. Also hit a squirrel.
Fun times
