Default Anyone run poorly in winter? Help

Hey all,

I have a FPGreen with APS FMIC in my 02 WRX. I have an emailed PDX map currently. In the summer it ran decent but now that its winter, it it terrible at WOT. DD it is perfect, but step on the throttle and it studders, surges and doesn't want to climb in RPMs. This happens around 4000 when boost begins to hit.

My tuner at PDX recommended I check IC hoses b/c it sounded like a loose clamp that leaked at boost. I removed the bumper and checked everything and they are all super tight. Years ago I forgot to tighten a clamp and I could only boost to 5-7psi and it just felt gutless and weak, not surging(that was with a VF30 though). Now, it runs like garbage, but I still produce 19-20 lbs of boost, so I don't think its a leak.

Care runs very smooth and perfect at part throttle in the low RPMs, just goes really bad when boost starts to build. However, even at idle, when boost barely comes on, it doesn't like revving past 6000. Starts to sputter and stuff again.

Has anyone experienced this? Bad plugs? Not a refined enough tune?

Come summer I am very curious if this goes away but I want to nip it in the butt before then. Anyone had winter issues?

Its possible that an OTS map is not the best idea for all those mods

go get a real tune

I intend to, but the nearest tuner is about 20 hours of driving away.

Issue I have is it wasn't doing this in summer, but is doing it now.

I logged using ECUExplorer and sent those to the tuner. He is suspecting extremely rich conditions but without the car there its speculation.

I've tuned this symptom out of several cars... I'm sure I can help you out. It has to do with MAF over comp regarding temp and rich tip in behavior. Shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

looks like Jarrad at PDX figured it out. My Realtime map was lost and I just needed to reload it. Must have lost it during a reset months ago and forgot to load it back.

I will be driving down south come summer for a road trip holiday. I'll get it properly tuned then. AZ and NM should be nice.
