Grimspeed V2 MBC with Grimspeed EBCS (Hybrid)
Hay guys. Im in the process of upgrading my car. here it is so far.
2006 WRX 2.5 20G turbo 2.5 inlet 900 CC injectors TGV Delets TBE Un = lenght headers AP turbo inlet SPT short ram intake. STI + size TMIC. I have both the MBC and EBCS from Grimspeed and I was wondering about doing a hybrid set up. Using the EBCS to control boost at partial and low boost range and use the MBC to control overboost and potential spike issues. I searched and didnt see much on the hybrid idea. But if anybody has any imput im all ears. Im looking for how to set it up, to what to look for while tuning. Please help. THANKS.

just shows that if you make something a sticky people will all take it as gospel. internet forum sheep.
there is no reason to use both an MBC and an EBCS. Nobody does that except Subaru owners. If you know how to tune the factory boost control system + EBCS it will be responsive. If you are overboosting you need to adjust the turbo dynamics tables and the compensation tables. |

Dont forget that even a properly tuned car can experience boost spike or overboost if driven wrong. If your going 60 in sixth and you give it full throttle you will experience either or both. Turbo cars tend to function smoother in higher rpms. Staying away from the open loop closed loop transition as much as possible is a good thing. You want to try to keep it in boost. THats why we downshift to fourth. It puts us in a good rpm range for the power output when boosting. Just food for thought.
