<----Downingtown, PA. It's in Chester County, about an hour NW of center city Philadelphia. It's about 10 minutes off of the PA Turnpike.

$200 is asking too much for 4 tires that only have 1,131 miles on them when the same exact tires cost $150 each on Tirerack.com?? I think $50 a tire is a pretty good deal for someone that needs new tires and would rather spend $200 and not $600.

Yes, $50 each is way too much, even if they were brand new. Sorry, that's just the way it is. |

Wow it amazes sometimes how people can post in threads that have no business posting in them at all. If you don't want to buy tires why the hell are you looking at this thread let alone posting negative crap that could possibly kill a sale. Not everyone that owns a Subaru needs super high performance tires. Think next time how you would feel if you were trying to sell something and someone posted nothing but negative garbage in your thread.

Yes RE92's might not be the best tire......I think this is all but a common sense on this website. Was there really a need to bash them on a FS thread?
There are people out there that might not have the $$ for a descent set of AS tires but need ANYTHING with tread to get thru inspection/winter (which it is also known they will do snow w/good tread). Bump for a good guy just tryin to free some space up in his house. Ian |

Interested.... Would you take less for them? I'm just up the road in Lancaster Co. PM if you want.
Otherwise... BUMP for tires that I have on my car that aren't to shabby. Quit making the tires your SCAPEGOAT. Last edited by subeman90; 12-30-2005 at 06:48 PM. |

Thanks Rob and Ian
subeman, Sorry, can't go any lower for what are practically brand new tires. I could get more for them on Ebay but posted here first to try to help out a local Suby owner that might be on summer tires and/or worn all-seasons. Bill |

RE 92s aren't bad at all. I usually run them in the winter myself. I've ran them on the road course as well. If you think they are "total garbage" then you obviously have ZERO skill as a driver, learn to drive properly and you'll see RE92s aren't bad. $50 a tire is a great price, had I not just bought tires I'd probably jump on em myself.

Come on mike, I've had a lot of time on the track, and hold a couple of competition licenses. I never blamed anything on RE92's, in fact I happily autox'ed on them for a year when I first bought my RS 6 years ago. That doesn't make them good tires. Let's be realistic... Are the RE92's "good" tires? No, they're not. Are they really tires that are worthy of being on a vehicle such as a stock WRX? I think most will argue that they are not. In order to prevent terminal sidewall roll, the tire must be pumped upwards of 40+ psi, which begins to crown the tire contact patch and reduce performance. Bottom line is these are economy tires installed on a performance car. Sure, they sell for well more than $100 at the dealer and online, but that doesn't mean they're worth it. Being that you can get MUCH better tires for much less, to me, makes them a garbage tire. |

I sold my RE92's with 50% tread left for $35 for all four. That's just how everyone hates them here at nasioc.com.
IMHO, they are perfectly fine for the street. But, they are way over priced when you can buy much better A/S tires for that price. |

I used these for my first year before switching them out. They have horrid ratings, but I never had a single problem with them. Because they gave me no problems, I would not be completely opposed to using them again.
Given that, 2 weeks ago it came time to order new tires, which I ordered from tirerack. I went with Contiextremecontact. Great ratings, $80 a piece. I was trying to do inexpensive because I only plan on keeping the car another year. I checked here a couple times to see if anyone local was selling the RE92s, cuz I know they sell here cheap. Unfortunately, no RE92 postings and I couldn't wait any longer. I just couldn't justify spending $150 on a tire with bad ratings when I could get ones for $80 each, with great ratings. I definately would have spent 50/ea for those RE92s you're selling, but it's just a case of bad timing, unfortunately. wgb113: I'm sorry dude, but you might just want to sell them on ebay if this is how you're gonna be treated around here. You'll make more money anyway. Good luck! |
