bump for upcoming winter setups!

Just painted mine last night, sorry for the cell pics, they get the point across. Yeah, I know, not stock, but they look like stock wrx wheels.

Crud. I wanted the dark flat bronze look but ended up with this:

Home Depot grey primer (2-3 coats)
Home Depot bronze paint (5-6 light coats)
Home Depot clear coat (2 coats)

I didn't realize the grey primer would come out so light. I should have gotten black primer to get the deep bronze I wanted. I think I'm going to have to repaint next season because I don't like the fact that the bronze is almost a "browning gold" like a bronze dude from Las Vegas.

I was hoping to get something more like below (and he used black primer). If his darker color is due to the paint more than the black primer, please tell me.

My days of painted wheels are DONE! My experience with painted wheels is that they look good for 1-2 years/seasons, then they just start to go down hill, fast.

Just got my winter wheels back from the powder coater-

^^ Nice!

I chose to paint mine, here are some pictures:

Paint used: Primer, Ace Hardware Metallic Brite Gold paint (I wanted Rustoleum brass metallic but I couldn't find it anywhere, this seems to be a pretty good match), then Duplicolor wheel coating.

Three coats of rustoleum black night metallic
Four coats of rustoleum gloss clear
