Real quick version for the peek ahead:

Stock bezel, cleaned up (lots of details still to add, but generally it's right on)

60mm gauge pods added in place of air controls, 10 deg up, 10 deg left rotated plane, front view:

ISO view of it:

Will also be modifying display opening so that I no longer need the aluminum faceplate (you can see it in Axel's pic) and generally cleaning it up.

Something like what I put together in a friend's 240SX. YouTube - Digital push button start
Hopefully I can put this together and document it to post a write up.

Started building a Surge tank tonight to go with my Aeromotive A1000. Using both factory lines as a return, and putting in a -6 for the pressure to the rails. I have a Walbro 255 in the tank feeding the surge. It holds about 3 quarts of fuel. It has a -8 feeding to the A1000. I will weld it up tomorrow and see what I've got. Going to the track Saturday so I have my work cut out for me

In this particular setup the ignition wires were cut from the back of the ignition cylinder so that the key has NO function other than to unlock the steering wheel. This was a safety feature requested by the owner of the vehicle as an added theft prevention measure, and also so that if he gets too drunk to drive, someone takes his keys, and he remembers his code, he wont get very far.

Strangely enough a very similar thing happened to me at work one day when both my key FOB, AND my valet switch broke in my previous vehicle. I spent about 20 minutes disabling the alarm and enabling the starter in the parking lot. Security drove past me and didn't even ask! Needless to say I don't work there anymore. lol

Anyhow, I think I would simply splice the new connections into the existing harnesses to prevent primary failure and maintain the cool factor. I just like playing with my electronics!

What year is that bezel for? If it is a 06, is there any chance you could send me the file for the stock bezel. I work with Solidworks all the time and I was thinking about reverse engineering a bezel, but if you are willing to share that would be cool.

This console for my Forester XT was invented as a tribute to the "Back to the Future" movie, which I love.

8 AUBER INSTRUMENTS gauges
Defi Boost gauge 60mm
Defi VSD Concept Head-up Display with dim sensor
Impreza WRX Sti lightweight clock

so we get 11 parameters (excluding clock) each with separate warnings, hi\low peak memories and a sound buzzer for ALL , ain't it fun?

1)OIL_TEMP 2) WATER_TEMP 3) OIL_TEMP (AUTO_TRANS) 4) EXHAUST_GAS_TEMP 5) FUEL_PRESS 6)INTAKE_AIR_TEMP 7) OIL_PRESS 8 ) VOLTMETER

9) BOOST
10) CLOCK
11) SPEED
12) ENGINE REV.

prototype

that's what I call a GAUGE CONSOLE

Whew... Tons of meetings today so very little time to work on this project. Still, got all the details done. Tomorrow will be the modifications to make gauges and my screen fit all sorts of nice.

Wasn't cheap!!

$580 to stich it. But I didn't pay, the jokers that replaced my smashed rear screen did after they smeared black silicone on the original rear seat.
