The Goodyears are a brand new tire so I doubt many people have them yet. I would give them a try for sure. I wanted a set of them for wifes 06 WRX, but I could not wait till these came out and settled for the yokohama avid W4s that recently came out. My friend is a Goodyear dealer so I knew about these tires in the spring and hoped they came out before the RE92s were dead.

The Michelins are way over priced and they don't even have the 91 load rating that you should be using on an 06+ WRX.

Another proven option is the Bridgestone RE960, but for the price I would give the Goodyears a try.

...and I would NEVER-EVER-EVER buy a new release Goodyear tire....no as in not on a bet, ever.....too many bad, junk, useless tires made by Goodyear, later

stick with something like the RE960AS that is a proven performer.

that AS pilot sport is WAY-WAY overpriced

Just a bump to see if there's anymore experience out there with the Goodyear F1 AS tires. I'm looking at these and the 'Stones for my wifes 3. I'm a fan of Bridgestone, but Tirerack has them last in their test and the Goodyears first:

Initial impressions are pretty good. I put a set of 225/45/17 F1 A/S on about 2-3 weeks ago. I usually don't buy high dollar tires but I found a deal on eBay for a set at $85 a piece, so I couldn't pass that up. It's been dry and sunny here lately, so I've only been on dry roads with temps between 40-75 degrees. They are very quiet and the ride is more comfortable than the Bridgestone S03s I just took off. The S03s were 235/40/17 and are a summer tire, so it isn't really a fair comparison. They seem to handle great, more traction than anyone should need for a street tire. They seem to share the same characteristics as the regular Eagle F1, but with some added cold weather capability. Overall, I am glad I bought them and I look forward to giving them a workout in colder weather, rain and snow in the next few months.

I may be forced to ammend the above......these MAY just be good AS tires afterall.....

Goodyear seems to have been forced to step up and deliver a good tire here.....as unlikely as it may be

I just put them on my car and I like them. I had Falken Azenis RT-615 and got some glass in them. Honestly in the few days I've had them on, I've been pleased with the performance. The sidewall is strong, traction is good, they are definitely not as sticky as my RT-615's but that's to be expected for all season radials. The only other thing that concerned me a little was when they mounted them, it seemed like they had to use more weight to balance them than my Falkens. Maybe a production kink they need to work out? Not sure? But they definitely needed more weight than I had been used to.

I would not try to be a pioneer with the new Goodyears. They were introduced so recently that any feedback will be unreliable, and there hasn't been any chance to try them in Winter. Between the F1 and the RE960 I would go with the Bridgestones that are proven to be very good.

Turns out they don't make the 'Stones in a 205/50/17 for my wife's Mazda, so SHE is gonna be our guinea pig for the Goodyears. She had the Avon 550 AS on her car, but the fronts seemed to wear exceptionally fast after a while -- and all in the middle of the tread. Pretty weird, so I'm not doing the Avons again. (I've got the Hankook RS2s and Dunlop M3s for my ride.)

Sounds like over inflation. But I'm glad someone is going to try the F1's this winter so I will have some information next fall when I'm due for a new set

I have some goodyear eagles on right now, and my only complaint is that they suck for AutoX, but hey any all-season tire will suck for AutoX.

I'm still happy with mine. No bad weather yet, so I don't have much to add to the review.

I work at a goodyear store, and let me tell you, these tires are HEAVY. almost as heavy as the goodyear triple-treads. i just saw a set go out on a TSX with a very picky customer . I'll keep an eye out for the review when it comes in.

Check on TireRack's site- they did a recent comparison between this tire and a bunch of other UHPAS options and it did very well. They're on my short list with p-zero nero's for my next set of tires.

I just got a set of the F1 A/S 225/45-17 and love them. Rating: 420 AA A (420% treadlife, AA wet coefficient, A temperature).

If anyone has driven a car with the Assurance TripleTred, these are the same idea, but in a performance tire. TripleTreds are superior in wet and good in the snow.

No snow yet.

Rain, yes. It's been that light wet rain, with some puddling accumulation, cool (35-55 degrees-F), oil coming up out of the road, leaves everywhere. You know, you're late fall, getting worse out type of roads (if you know New England) These tires stick to the road.

Whereas the stock RE-92's would give that feeling of losing their grip, these tires don't -- and no, I'm not going around corners in the wet as I would in the dry.

Their handling is very positive and IMO, they're a bit more quiet at highway speeds than the stockers. Firm ride without being harsh.

If your driving conditions are other than that of a daily driver, respectfully, then you either need a full winter tire or a full summer tire -- this should be common sense. But for many, one tire that covers the spectrum, with the hopes that your municipality does at least an ok job in cleaning the roads, should suffice. Also good driving habits and experience help too.

I have the chassis/suspension (no springs or dampers) beefed up along with the WL rack bushing kit. Driving with these tires is a good experience.

Hey, if the RE-92's on an AWD WRX can get me through some crappy conditions last winter, with poorly plowed roads, I think that these F1 A/S will do a much, much better job.

I didn't get the Pirelli P-Zero Nero b/c of the reviews I read regarding the shoulders of the tires wearing out faster than the rest of the tire.

Michelin has a tire or two, but they're higher in price than what I wanted to pay; and Goodyear is currently offering a $50 cash card rebate ($100 if you make the purchase with a Goodyear Visa card): http://www.goodyeartires.com/cfmx/we...ahooSearchNPP5

Today, 20-25 degrees-F, a few inches of snow.

Took the car out and these tires are fine. Around corners it was ok, but I have the suspension modded and the tires were not adjusted. I dropped the pressure to 33/32psi F/R which helped a lot.

Corners are much better, but again it's slick out there and common sense and prudent driving are in order.

Cuts through the snow as with water with no problem.

So far, I like them.

TTFN.

I didn't get to take mine out in the snow/slush yesterday. Too busy but I'm glad you had a good experience with them.

Nah, Avons wear quite fast. They're cheap and decent but fast wearing. I have a friend with the M500s on a light Civic, the wear is pretty high. To give you a relative idea, the M500 will wear faster than his WS-50s...on dry road., sticky tire though, a little noisy. I would expect similar from the M550M/S

Agreed, the F1 A/S looks promising. I'm actually more curious about the new F1 summer. I've got RE01Rs, so I don't feel threadened., but I'm curious how it will stack up among the crowd. It's good to see Goodyear tossing out some new tires finally.

Not to be a pr*ck, but the RE92's had some of the worst winter performance I've ever experienced. Almost anything that calls itself an all-season tire would be better.

That said, I'll probably try these F1 A/S's when I replace my current Pilot Sport A/S's, which I have been fairly happy with. Got them for a good price, and they handle mixed snow/ice/slush amazingly well. Even did ok for a street tire for rallycrossing until they got below 50% tread.

RE92 was fine with deep tread on snow. Ice, the compoud really doesn't want to bite at all. I'm sure there are a few worse tires than the RE92, however, there are many, many better ones.
