I'd love to see them bring it here as an option

Doesn't mean all STIs have to have it (and no, there's no chance I'd ever buy one but still)

Didn't think you had it in you to make such an absurd comment. Define "pure"... Why can it not be an option for those who can't drive stick because of health conditions? Would it be an abomination to the STI's "pureness" and would the buyers be less "pure" enthusiasts? Better yet, PM me as I don't want to derail the purpose of this thread.

Actually Subaru made a hand controls (on steering wheel) STI for a kid, it was in an issue of Subiesport (i'm too tired to get it, i have 'em all).

I have no issue w/ retrofitting. But, there is no reason for a sports car to have an automatic. Sorry. I know F1 and Rally use dog or dual clutch sequential gearboxes (granted Rally has a manual too if the dog dies). But, it just takes away everything that is holy about driving.

Oh and the only really pure cars are the Elise, Exige, Ariel, etc etc.

SOA_Blog -

I was wondering if you can go "on the record" as to whether there is any chance of a "performance" version of the Outback coming later in the year or even later in the model cycle? Is an XT completely off the table, or is there still some possibility that the turbo 4 from the Legacy GT might make it in (for example as a 2010.5 or 2011 model), maybe if the economy turns around or sales numbers are promising?

I think Subaru has killed the XT outback....They didn't sell very well. I have yet to see one come through my dealership here in Tejas....and that's not to say people didn't buy them, but I have seen an XT on our lot to sell in the last year or so.

And hopefully that's the same reason SOA Blog won't say anything about the possibility of certain removed features coming back for future model years. Outright saying that MY2011 will be better than MY2010 would encourage people to wait to buy, and there's a lot that can happen in a year.

Just be sure you don't read any hints in what we said above. We don't say anything about anything - good, bad or indifferent. Next year's product might have more content, less content or the same content. We don't talk about it.

In the above, we spent a sentence explaining generally why we don't talk about future products and why no one can ever say "never". That's all. Heck, we can't say we will "never" introduce a flying carpet powered purely by love and puppies. Although if we did you'd all complain about the hard weave and lack of decent edging. Oh, and you'd call for extra puppies. (wink)

We'd also probably complain that it's too big and doesn't have folding mirrors as well!

SOA blog - what was the reason behind the decision of not offering an automatic tranny in the 2010 LGT?

Not enough Auto-trannied GTs sold to justify it?

Why can't we get HID's in our cars like the JDM ones? Why does only the STi get them? Seriously....why is that the only one that has them and not cars like the Tribeca and Legacy (at least the GT and 3.0R/3.6R)? I don't really get that....you'd think the "luxury" cars Subaru makes would have those.
