Dope, I'll check back in like six weeks, if you haven't finished your GB by then I'll hop in, `02 WRX. One question though, any clearance issues for 20's?? They were a bitch to get in in the first place, thought maybe there's something majorly different???

Hmmm, that is sort of odd. I have found these to be extremely quiet compared to others I have driven and sold. |

mine are noisy as funk too and one of the bearings on the front doesnt like to rotate because i can hear the spring skipping around on the spring seats when i turn the wheel. i emailed urbanimport about these problems three weeks ago and was told i would get a reply within 48 hours but that never came.

I also havent recieved any reply about recieving the wrong spring rates. Guess I need to call him. Mr.m I would check the allen bolts that compress the strut body, when those get loose things get really really noisy.

ive checked them before but i guess theyre worth checking again. i really think d2 needs to get rid of the allen bolts to tighten the strut mount and use a ring like the one used to hold the spring perch to hold the strut mount.

I actually, like the allen screw on the bottom mount. If you have ever had another set of two way height adjustabel coilovers, you will understand why. I have seen the lower mount on JICs, Zeals, Cuscos, and Teins all seize up to a point that they were nearly impossible to break free and adjust the height. With the allen screws used in the clamp on lower bracket, you can simply loosen the screws more and readjust if you need.
If it is still a problem for you, you could probably call Urban and order a pair of rings and use them, as well as the allen screws. Once you get the height adjusted correctly, you could also use some blue lock tight on the threads of the allens, and that should take care of your problems. Kent |

I apologize for not getting back to everyone sooner. For future reference this is the name I will be posting under. Since our vendor subscription ran up I am no longer able to post or receive PMs under the previous name. Please email me ([email protected]) with any future correspondence. We were having issues with email when we switched servers but everything should be fine now.
In regards to the clunking noises this can usually be easily resolved by greasing the bottom of the top mount. The allen bolts are a fairly new design from D2 on the WRX application. This type of mount has been used on the 240SX applications for about 6 months and we haven't had any complaints. As Kent stated the allen bolt design has advantages of its own. |
