2012 WRX Boost Leak?
I have a 2012 WRX running Torqued Performance Stage 2 map @ 19 psi, along with a Cobb Catted Downpipe.
At one point while running TP Stage 1, I acquired the typical boost leak from the throttle body, which was the clamp completely loose. I fixed the issue. The leak at the time made the car sound like it had an intake. Now at Stage 2 I hear a high pitched squeak at certain rpms under boost. Sounds like you blowing air into a bottle. Not sure if that's a leak or something else. Any suggestions would help. Note: according to AP, I hit target boost. Sometimes a 0.1-0.4 spike over 19 psi. Also, still have the rubber gasket couplings over the intercooler to throttle body that is usually the culprit. Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRYY...e_gdata_player

Remove the rubber gaskets from the throttle body hose and retighten, preferably with t-bolt clamps.
If the problem still occurs, try a smoke test to see if there is a boost leak anywhere else. |

Yeah, I was gonna remove them. Figured to give it a shot and ask here as well.
No t-bolts on hand, I would have to order them. Have to find out what sizes. |

Not sure about the wrx, but the for the sti TB to IC coupler a 2.75" t-bolt clamp works great.

Before you spend any money on new parts, do a smoke test. No need to buy a $100 BPV when it could be a $10 hose, or even just a disconnected line. |

My EBCS makes an absolute racket under really heavy load and it kind of sounds like a boost leak. Everything is tightened to oblivion though, and I'm pretty sure it's just the intake & EBCS tweaking out together with all that air.
