Wrx seat swap??
Hey guys I just bought a 1993 legacy sport wagon today. I was wondering if I could swap out the seats that are in it now for a set on the classifieds.?
Does it make any difference if it is a 2002 or 03-04 seat?? I really like the wrx seats more and would appreciate the input. Thanks Andrew

The only problem is the height of the new WRX seats...I'm trying to find a way to take the rails off of my old seats to replace the ones in my STi seats but I can't find any wrenchs in my house

A-train....are you a football fan by any chance? I ask becuase that is the nickname for Mike Alstott, Fullback for Tampa Bay. Just thought I'd ask. I thought that the post that was up a few days ago was into a BD Legacy? or would the differences from 90-94 and 95-99 be close to none?

I believe the difference between all subaru mounts is nothing. The only problem I'm having is the fact that the mounts are on freaking pedalstels in the impreza range, while ours are very short.

If you have the sunroof and are tall (6 foot+) you will have issues. I had a set in my 96 and i sold them for a set of 2.5 rs seats which set much lower.

They are the same, the only reason I got the STi seats was that I got a good deal, and they were from japan so they are tighter.

The STi seats have a bit more bolstering.
Not much difference besides that, though. |

Well I was just wondering if anyone has been able to pull the brackets off of a set of 04 wrx seats. It seems that they are a bit different externally than the ealier models. I guess they sit very high up in the car and I dont want to be bangin my head up against the ceiling.
If I csan reasonably switch out the railings so the fit to a decent height, then I would do the swap. Thanks for the continued answers. Andrew |

I just tried to take the rails off my legacy seats and nothing was budging at all, I'll be getting a Impreza sometime in the future anyways so I'm not going to do anything that will damage what I've got in there right now.

My buddy just put STi ver 5 (red, grey and black) seats in his 91 turbo and they fit great. I sat in the car and I love the seating position. He finds it a little high but I thought it was good....and i am 6'2".
BTW... I find the JDM STi seats are more supportive than the USDM seats. |

Can an upholstry shop reduce the padding in the STi seat bolsters so my leg doesn't go to sleep? How much would this cost, perhaps?
