Some advice?
I was wondering of some of you guys could give me a little advice on which upgrade path i should choose. Heres my situation: my boost controller went wack on me and overboosted hardcore, killing my turbo, it still boosts and is still in my car, but it makes some odd noises during idle and makes the car heisitate at higher rpm's. So i bought another factory turbo, mint condition off someone and was about to switch it when i figured, hey, why not do an upgrade. So heres some possibilites with the money i got, or will have within 2 weeks. I was thinking of sending my new factory turbo to ION to do an upgrade, with that i would need injectors and a manual boost controller only right? (to run it safely) and currently im about to purchase an M2 uppipe off someone, if i bought just these parts, would they work together safely and perform well? or i could not buy anything and just save up for a stage kit in a few months, which would u do? or somethinf different?
thanx, omar

Why not install your new turbo and send your old one to ION, then you will have your car running nicely while you wait on ION to finish rebuilding your turbo. From what I understand they replace everything except the housing anyways, So it would be kinda wastefull to send them a brand new turbo when you could just use your old one.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do, Sean |

unless you have a method of datalogging (like a deltadash) youll basically just be guessing what boost is safe to run. Its very easy to push the stock injectors to 100% duty cycle and if you get STi 550cc injectors youll need a way to control the fuel (atleast an s-afc). You should also get a fuel pump..
My advice would be to install the good stock turbo you have along with the uppipe and save for fuel system, engine management and whatever youre going to do with the turbo. |

Great, thanks for the info guys, so about how much would new feul injectors and a pump cost? and buying used would be fine right? if i go ion i basically wanna be able to push at least 16-17 so theres a noticeable difference, but safely ofcourse. and i think will send my 'messed up' turbo to them, thanks alot for that advice.
