I'm still out here as well. I'm considering selling my 06 STI and getting something new...possibly a new STI or something more comfortable. Would love an Audi A4, but after seeing what parts cost for that car I will pass...$400-500 for a new alternator hahaha.

Are the newer STI seats more comfortable on long trips? I test drove an 08 when they first came out, but I didn't drive it very long and it was obviously too long ago to remember.

My brother had older STi seats and the bolstering felt better/stiffer to me than on my car, if fit me great around turns. If you're a big dude then the 08 seats will feel better. If not I actually think the older seats are fine. Either way, the newer STi seats are softer and more plush.

The seats feel fine when driving in the city, but I can tell you right now when you sit in them for 1,000 miles your lower back will feel terrible. I think part of the problem is that you cannot adjust the horizontal stance of the bottom part of the seat. The bottom part leans down in the back quite a bit causing you to be crammed into this triangle shape. I wish it could be adjusted flatter for longer trips. I understand they were made to hold onto you, but it doesn't feel too good after a while of sitting in it.

How often do you drive 1000 miles dude? Most I ever drove in that car was 300 miles. I could definitely imagine them not feeling good after 1000 miles. I drove my car from Chicago to LC and I was fine. I did it all in 1 day too.

I don't want to sound like I'm telling you what to do, but maybe a suggestion would be to swap seats? It'd suck to get rid of your car and get a newer one just because of the seats. I don't know how you feel about that but it's an idea

There are more reasons. I'm also just ready for something new. I've had this car since 2008 and I'm just ready for a change. I'm driving to Florida this week in it and will be returning in a couple of weeks so that will be 4,000 miles.

Cool dude, I understand! Yes, the newer seats are better for that type of travel.

We were going to take my girlfriend's Pontiac Aztek, but the intake manifold gaskets and water pump are leaking coolant. I hate GM products...the Aztek had to have been the worst designed vehicle ever. Thing was plagued with problems from the get go.

We will be getting rid of that shortly after getting back probably and getting a Honda or Subaru SUV. We shall see

No mods yet actually. Gonna try out the OTS stage 1, then go from there. Catback first, then down pipe. After that not sure..

Is that in Las Cruces? I'm new to the area and live on the west side of El Paso.

Yes but I'm pretty sure some Valero stations in El Paso have it.

Yup, Cam is right. It's on Joe Battle and Pebble Hills, it's a Valero. I'm very familiar with driving down there every two weeks for about 3-4 months when we didn't have it regularly here It's right off the 375 loop, so it's a ways from you.
