Just got his email from my salesman...

"I just had two trucks unload bunch of cars for us. I need to wait for my inventory manager to let me know what factory orders came in i should have all the info in the early afternoon.

I will be checking in as soon as he is done."

SERIOUSLY? HOW MUCH TEASING CAN ONE GUY WITHSTAND!?!?!

Does it really take that long to know if your car is there? Seems like the ppwrk from the driver would have the order number or VIN for each car, then just check to see if they match yours.

And you're not driving down to the dealership and checking VINs for yourself... why again?

haha I just emailed him back and said that I'll be there in 2 hours - have to wait for my lunch break.

Seriously though, how many black WRX 5-doors can there be on a single truck? Do you really even have to check the paper works...I'm being overly anxious, I know.

No, you're not. If it makes you feel any better I just got the dreaded "no update, no truck" email from my salesman.

I love how there are so many unsold wrxs and STIs around me, but ppl that ordered their cars are waiting crazy time to get one. Tbh ordered cars should take presedence over cars just for the lot.

My car is now on hold and I know of a couple dealers that got pbp Sti sedans with navi just sitting on there lots a couple weeks ago

Depends what you want. I had the dealers check incoming cars and they didn't have a base sedan. I didn't want to spend more money on a limited hatch when it wasn't the car I wanted for the price I wanted. So I ordered.

WRXs & STIs aren't Honda Civics & Mazda3s. The former are low volume models with picky buyers. The latter gives you the option of literally a hundred or more in stock on the lot... chances are you'll find a match when shopping a Civic.

Plus, no racecar test drive miles are logged on a factory order. The 8 week wait is a small price for peace of mind and complete satisfaction

So what is everyone driving in the meantime? I sold my 2004 WRX way too quickly. Now I am driving my "yard truck", a 170k mile 22R 5 speed Toyota 4x4.

When I drove the truck to the title transfer place to sell the 2004 WRX, the exhaust fell off. Right there in the parking lot. Drove it like that for a week =)

Put on a new exhaust and she is doing really well. Now that I am driving her daily she seems to have picked up like 50hp!

Girlie drives her 2012 WRX, making me jealous daily.

I drive a 1991 318is. It's in very good condition and I can't complain. Sigh

Welp, apparently there can be zero black 5-door wrxs on a truck
Oh well, back to trying to forget about this thread...

There were probably about a dozen wrxs/stis in the back lot, too.

My salesman did mention that SOA has restricted his ordering capability for wrx and sti because of the backlog.

Sorry to hear about that leurw. Would be very interested on the details of the hold/backlog/etc situation going on, if Mike finds out and can say.

Oct 4th - Completed Status, ETA 10/8
Oct 8th - *crickets chirp*
Oct 10th - Completed Status, ETA 10/8

What is happening? Did Subaru logistics walk out on strike? Sales consultant has a message out to his district rep, awaiting response.

Tick tock.

Day 2 Post ETA

No longer sleeping or eating. Refreshed my email 6000 times in 2 days. Can't stop wondering why she hasn't replied. Why did those other guys with orders at the same dealership get their car but I did not. Did that giant anti-Subaru pterodactyl attack it and they're too sad to tell me. Damn you pterodactyl! Damn youuuuuuuuu!
