Thanks for the NE guys who came to the Tri-state Shootout
Thanks for showing up @ the E-town shootout yesterday! Not sure who exactly was there but saw some mass plates so assumed you guys! I sucked in my XT6 but that's cause my PS rack is still messed up. Anyway pics will be up at http://isuzu-suvs.com/autox sometime tonight.

Hey Mike,
Sorry I didn't get to meet you. I had the Black WRX wagon at the meet, and I worked while you ran the first session. Funny that you say you have a PS rack problem, because every time you came into that first tight turn, I thought something on your car broke. It was great to see an "old-school" scobby work the course, and from what I could see you were moving pretty well considering the mechanical problems. Paul G. |

Thanks. Yeah once I get this new XT6 sorted out it should be good. Currently needs the PS rack, and something is funky in the rear end gears, possibly just fluid replacement/fill, also needs to get the camber adjusted, cause currently it's positive rather than zero or negative. Also learing to drive stick is fun too!
I think I shot some pics of the black wagon, hopefully they'll be uploaded in a few hrs. Once my car gets sorted out, and I get the trailer for it next season, I may just make it up to some auto-xs in NE, where do you guys run your auto-xes? -mike |

Here's my writeup:
NESIC Put's the smack-down at the 2nd Subie Smackdown. (Well, not totally) NESIC's own KC (hey that's me) dominated Day One of the 2 day smackdown event held by Northern New Jersey region in Englishtown, NJ at Raceway Park, winning STX, placing Highest Subaru PAX, and placing 2nd overall in PAX for the day out of 155 competitors... only 2/10ths out of 1st. Paultg came in 5th out of 8, putting in a great show in his almost stock STX wagon. However, threat of rain kept KC from attending day 2 to win the coveted "Subie Smackdown Trophy". A piece of history comes with that trophy, as KC was 2nd place in the 1st Subie Smackdown held in Camden 2 years ago when KC had his '99 RS. "There was a score to settle," KC said, "because I was robbed 1st place by a well driven RS... by the COURSE DESIGNER Tony." KC, Mr. "Pray for Rain", told us that threat of Rain all day on Sunday is what kept him away from attending day 2 of the Smackdown. "Running in the rain's not a problem," reports KC, "it's the 6 hour drive home in it on almost dead Falkens though NJ, NY and CT that kept me from attending." Being the old man that he is, KC felt it best to err on the side of caution this time, knowing that next year... he'll be back with a vengance: "Possibly with a little more horespower on tap." Had a great time. Paul thank your 'rents for letting me crash there Fri nite and for that wonderful pot roast for supper on Sat. --kC |

Thank you for coming down to this fun event and kicking our a55's. It was nice to see that I wasn't the person with the furthest drive to the event. It would have been quite nice to see you guys again on Sunday but I understand where you were coming from on the weather situation. The funny thing was it only rained for a short time on Sunday and the course was nice and dry half way through the first heat. The only thing that sucked was it was a mid 30 second course so the runs went really quick.
See you on Saturday if it is not raining. Z |
