Default MY 2017 FP Red Sti / M.R. Performance Built

I'm not new to the Subaru community. This being my 4th Subaru, 3rd Sti. Throughout the years, life's challenges have always left me in positions where i had to end up selling the cars i've had the previous years. Those challenges have ranged from Divorce to Medical Emergencies. Through it all, i've met and had great people in the Subaru Community to support me all around the world. From California, to New York, To Bahrain, and in Japan.

My previous builds were a 2004 WRX

2006 Sti

2015 Sti

All these cars have brought me great joy. That is why i always came back to Subaru. This time around, when life is great with no hiccups. I actually tried to find reasons NOT to buy a Subaru. I searched and stressed extensively on which vehicle to purchase while still preparing for my future. Again, I always came back to Subaru. I eventually want to start a family so the four doors work. I know the platform and labor is somewhat cheap if i don't want to perform the work myself.

M.R. Performance doesn't play.

Old Shortblock. Not even 50 miles on her. She will be saved and rebuilt. Strongly considering making this short block a 9K rev machine. I figure, the FP Red can keep up with a destroked 8500rpm build. Just have to get additional heads and have IAG close deck this block. But thats the future. Maybe 2018.

Heads sent out to get cleaned.

IAG Stage 2 Tuff on deck

Your specs look almost identical to mine! My block just showed up yesterday (01098), also a stage 2 tuff. The car looks great!

It is all currently torn apart in my garage

stage 2 tuff
id1000cc
killer b W/ewg
the killer b oil pan trifecta
IAG tvg delet and fuel rails amongst a bunch of other stuff.

I already have everything but the built short block. Now to throw it all back on the block after IAG does some magic to the heads. I have a 20g-xtr that with everything I had put down 383hp/363wtq. I am up in the air about keeping the turbo. I would like something a little bigger.

You went full on beast mode...I like it! I can't wait to see the numbers that you'll be putting down. Just one thing I am wondering though. Are you not worried that the FP red won't be low enough in the powerband range for the track use? I had the FP Red in MY2004 and it didn't reached full potential until the high range RPM.

Why did you get rid of the 2015 and why did you go with the FP Red instead of the EFR 7163 or 7670?

Before you swap ouT, try to go the E85 route. If not, Water/Meth. Work your setup before you spend the extra money.
Just my two cents. Those numbers pretty good for a 20G. On E85, you can get low to mid 400's

I sure did. Lol. The FP RED is an 8cm, so it will help with spool. Plus the benefits of speed density and E85 as my primary fuel, I'm pretty sure I will be ok for track use. Also, take into consideration on the ability to tune dual AVCS on 08+ which can help spool.

Simple, MONEY!! ***128514;***128514; It's a proven turbo and it was only $950 brand new. It can make the power also. Due to cheap price on the turbo, it allowed me to put money in other places in the build, like my swaintech coated killer Bee header.

I got the 2015 while overseas, had a major medical issue and went through an ugly divorce so it had to go.

I would love to go the E85 route but it is not anywhere close to me. If stations happen to open up and cobb releases the flex fuel for 07 and older STI's then I would definitely be doing that.

Well Water Meth is a good option too if you choose to go that route.
