For those of you putting in Blouch twin scroll turbos, I'd love to see some pictures showing how much room there is (front-to-back and side-to-side) between TGV housings and the compressor inlet.
I'm sure it's going to be tight, I just wonder how tight. Thanks! |

Front to back is fine turbowise. If you are putting in a 3 in hard inlet, clearance has always been an issue with TGV's, also had to bend a PCV hard pipe coming from the block for clearance around the inlet. I don't have them and it was still a tight fit. Consider a silicone inlet for an easier installation. The only issues I ran into were the coolant feed line on the top needs to be bent downwards about a 1/2 to an inch away from the TMIC. The Oil feed line connection from the block needs to be bent towards the head about 3/4 to an inch. The nipple for the wastegate actuator points downward in an awkward spot so be sure to attach your vacuum line before you install it. |

The thing I'm most curious about is right under the black hose at the bottom of that last picture.
3" inlet and TGVs are always going to be tight, but some turbos are tighter than others. I have an ATP 3076 and the TGV clearance is nowhere near as bad as some that I've seen. I think they shaped the exhaust housing in a way that moves the turbo centerline a little bit further away from the TGV housing than most - further back and closer to the center of the car. |

update - blue car motor is finally out and torn down.
When time permits I have been working on the replacement. What will be going in: Honey Badger +2 shortblock GSC S1 cams +1 intake and exhaust Ported heads Now the ported heads and valves may seem like a bit of overkill for this turbo, but that's because we have another idea we'll be trying out later on that looks promising. Status right now is this: Block is at the machine shop getting bored for the HB+2 pistons Heads go out tomorrow Crank is balanced and mirror polished Rods are balanced and rod bearings are sized The block should be back in the next couple of days. Once I get some free time I will size the rings, balance the piston assemblies, and size the main bearings. Then the block will get final assembly and we wait for the heads to be done. After that they go on, engine goes in, and we'll tune it. Tuning will be using the Accessport 2.0. |

2.5XT-R = 60.0mm Turbine Wheel, 71mm XT Compressor wheel 1.5XT-R = 56.5mm Turbine Wheel, 71mm XT Compressor wheel Both 49lb/min The idea of the 1.5 was to aid in spool for smaller displacement engines while giving back some upper-end power. 1.5XT-R TS = 56.5mm Turbine Wheel, 71mm XT Compressor wheel 47lbs per min. Does anyone know why the twin-scroll is rated at a lower lbs/min? I can't wait to start seeing spool comparisons between the twin vs. single scroll. |

The TS is probably rated lower lb/min since the TS turbine housing has the divider and less volume internally so the turbo flows a bit less then its single scroll counterpart.
