Request: Black STI BBS wheels
Hey guys, I just did a 05 sti swap... Im thinking about what to do with the wheels... I have a CF hood, so I have to paint the wheels or get new ones bc they dont match anything on the car, even the headlights are dark....
Just looking for some ideas P.S. what about powdercoating? - I heard powdercoating the 05+ wheels messes up the strength of the wheel, any suggestions? Thanks

I think gunmetal would look awesome on BRP. Black is played out IMHO. Here's gm on an OBP, but you get the idea

honestly...i'd get them done in the bmw/infiniti liquid silver or even better, the new spec C silver - it adds a dimesion to the wheels that is is almost never seen...
it keeps them bright which looks very good...and honestly, the all flat black wheel thing is very rice and played out...if you do you go black, do an ultra high gloss so the wheel details can be seen Last edited by rubrduk; 11-07-2007 at 04:37 AM. |

I have painted Bronze BBS's on my BRP GM6. I'll see if I can dig up pics later today. Personally I think Bronze looks great with gold Brembos.

Powder coating will have the same effect on the strength of the wheel as painting it would....which is none. I would go with gunmetal or gold/bronze If you insist on black at least do gloss black. Flat black wheels are farking ugly. They remind me of ricers who cant afford to paint their body kits so they just spray the whole car flat black primer, and drive around like that for 2 years until they can finally paint it. Your car is gorgeous BTW keep up the great work!! |
