I downloaded it, but never got it working (forget why), but it is just a beta and I believe it expires in either June or July, then will be released for sale in the fall. Unless Adobe has changed things while I wasn't paying attention?
Seen some demos though and it looks to have some nice and very useful improvements.

^^^ First shot of the FRS is money! I think I would have cropped it a bit different, if possible, would have had more on the right side. Put the car more on the 2/3 bottom left corner. And a touch of tint on the mts would make them pop a bit more. just my 2 pennies.

NCOR good job practicing your pan. I read a great article once on panning you have to treat it almost like a golf swing. How I do mine is square up so face where my shots going to be taken. Then follow my subject in as soon as I'm facing forward I snap the shot but continue following the subject as it travels out. Try using AI servo for focus adjustments, also try and get your shutter speed lower that 1/30 for better blur effect.
Remember the faster your shutter is the darker your image will be and the more frozen in time your subject will appear. When I started panning race cars my first attempts looked like a parking lot lol. Tweak all your setting for the light your given, here is a one I did a few months back. You can see I was more focused on the 30 I managed to get most of the front in with the backend blurred for kind of a neat effect. Lime Rock 3-30-13 24-0915 by BPOS.P, on Flickr This was: F13 at 1/30 ISO 200 with a 200m. Keep it up man its not easy but once you get it you will love the results. |

Thanks. Practice practice practice practice. It's what I've been focusing on for a couple months now, especially since we are back into track season.

Btw: photography newb who just got a Canon T3i with the kit lens (18-55 i believe?) . Before I read up on new/better lens to buy, what would you guys recommend as the 'basic' option to take decent pictures of a car? I wanna do a little photoshoot with my car and I'm just not sure what to have my settings on. It'll be a morning/late afternoon shoot when the sun isn't blinding. Full manual? Creative Auto? Auto? etc. Or if theres a website that you think would be great, let me know as well. Thanks Last edited by High 0ctane; 06-16-2013 at 04:21 PM. |

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1263892 Unless you're made of money I would just practice up with the kit lens. I have found it is the most crisp right at 35mm. I tend to shoot in aperture priority or shutter priority, depending on what my goal is. I don't usually shoot full manual unless it's a night shoot. Never use any of the presets. I mean you can, but the camera's software is making a lot of decisions for you at that point. Good luck and have fun! |

I use both lightroom 4 and Photoshop. I do most of my editing in lightroom first and then I would take it into photoshop to clean things up. Most things I clean up in photoshop is unwanted reflection (removing myself/tripod from the car). I also use photoshop to sharpen the image up since it allows for greater control. I don't know much about Canon lenses but I enjoy my 35mm prime (most used) but since my camera is not full frame it is equivalent to a 50mm prime. Also I mostly shoot in morning/late afternoon/sunset, at this time I mainly use Aperture Priority. |
