Would be a hell of a first time! (and unfortunately Mike my parents planned family vacation over Michelin....yep)

BUT THERE'S MORE!! There will be three Palmetto Motorsports Club trackdays being given away at the event! Valued at $250 and can be used at any of the 40 track days held at CMP for the Palmetto Motorsports Club every year! Track days will be given to Fastest Time Pax, Fastest Time Raw and a third track day will be awarded to a random competitor! So come on out!

The track on the East course should prove to be VERY fast (as there isn't much you can do to slow that one down), but still remaining a safe environemnt for autocross! Register now as space is limited!!! www.subarushowdown.com

Also Subaru owners will receive $5 off registration! There is also an option to pay on site, but register now as space is limited!

Is this only a auto-x event? i went to sign up and noticed it only shows auto-x. Not going to do like last time and have autox and half track?

I'll probably still come down though with the new dub but just will be itching on the track

Does the Auto-X require a SCCA membership?

This is only an autocross event unlike last year. I do not know if you need an SCCA license, but you are supposed to have Autocross experience. You can email Sylvia from CMP asking if you need a scca membership. Her email is on the motorsportsreg.com page for the event

the event is autocross only but they will be utilizing the layout for the track, especially on the faster east course so it will come close to the full track experience.

novices are also welcome at the event (a recent change), and instructors will available if you want someone to ride along with you, especially given the high speed nature of the east course.

on-site camping will also be available friday and saturday night! and if you dont feel like running come out anyways! we should have a substantial amount of people coming out for a meet!

Also: everyone in attendance, both drivers and spectators, will have a chance to win free passes for the go art track (which is a full kart road course) and ridealongs in some 2012 Subarus (2 STis, and we're working on getting a BRZ as well!).

What he said, but he's not a instructor. Lol. The clear answer to having a license is no you don't need a SCCA license. We just ask you be honest and don't go out their thinking you can do it with no experience. Please ask do a instructor. Camping is the better choice as the closest hotel are no where close to 2 stars. Also I'm sure cold beverages will be enjoyed at night.

What did u mean novices are now welcome? Does that mean that we can participate even though we don't have any autox experience?

I'm registered in a WRX, but it looks like that might fall through. Anyone looking for a co-driver? :-\

If not I guess I'll just drive the MINI and put Subies to shame like last year!

Yep! Would be a great way to be introduced to the sport, will have a lot of veterans from several regions there and lots of fast subies! So if you or anyone you know has been interested in giving it a shot now's the perfect chance!

I had a good time meeting a bunch of Subaru and EVO folks out there today. I wish the time keeping was working more efficiently, though. I only ran on the East course.
