Is that state big enough to hold a roller coaster?

If you jump off a cliff, how fast would you be going after 1.8 seconds?

Of corse it is if you just blow Newark off the map then replace it with a rollercoaster. Nobody would miss that god forsaken place.

Freefall acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2. It hurts my head to do the math. Someone else do it.

Why yes, yes it is.

I wish the Six Flags out here didn't suck so bad.

Yeah.... Carowinds here sucks too Jewbaru. We haven't gotten anything new or unique in... well... ever. The most recent roller coaster we got was a Crazy Mouse style coaster!

We took a trip to King's Dominion last year. It was pretty nice... but too crowded. Volcano was cool, Flights of Fury was awesome... but my favorite was Anaconda. It's just so high, so long, and so weird feeling

Isn't a roller coaster like that against the law in Jersey now?

You'd be going 40 after 1.8 seconds of freefall. It would take 2.8 seconds to get to 60.

You will be going almost exactly 39 mph. I took 9.8 m/s^2 and then multiplied it by 1.8, then by 3.25 to get it in feet per second. then times 60 then times 60 again to get it into feet per hour, then divided by 5280 to get miles per hour. all very simple

getting up to 108mph in 1.8 seconds is pulling at 2.74 G's. Very nice! that'l plant u in ur seat for sure.

Try this thread on for size.

The coaster industry is doing some crazy stuff over in Japan now. But I guess not as crazy as X . And New Jersey isn't too bad. They have one of the key four parks under Six Flags. Gotta admit, Nitro is worthy-tan

Hey Steven, did you ride this while you were at King's Dominion? I rode it in '97 about a year after they opened it. Getting in I wondered what those huge pads next to your head were for. I found out!

http://www.coasterforce.com/outer.htm

This one is my favorite at Busch Gardens; I've been there every year for about the past 3 years or so now (I have friends in the area in the Navy who go with me and we all get cheap tickets.)

http://www.coasterforce.com/chariot.htm

It has some SERIOUS "weightlessness" time, not to mention it being really quite fast in certain sections.

Flights of Fear was GREAT! They didn't have shoulder harnesses though... which amazed me since it's a looping roller coaster. Just before we got on the ride, there was this HUGE black guy trying to get in. This guy was probably about 6'9", 300 lbs.... built like a brick wall. He got in, and the lapbar wouldn't come down over him... just kinda pinned his knees into his chest He was a bit nervous, but he made it out okay

I dunno what it is about King's Dominion. They have this obsession with launching coasters it seems. Flights of Fear, Volcano, and Hypersonic XLC. It's a nice park, and I can get in free there with my Carowind's season pass!

My suggestion is to wait until the park is almost closing and ride in the front seat. There's nothing more terrifying than that 300', 80 degree drop at night!!!
