I really would like to go and play on Horsethief for a day, that track looks like a blast, but I don't think I'll make it as it is my previously mentioned friend's bachelor party...

About the bucket seat, I agree, as the outside of my left knee always has a nice bruise on it from bracing myself during these track days, HA!

Great, although Luke (guy with a stock Evo X) messed up his car. Hopefully he gets it fixed soon. Other than that is was great we had some great drifters come out so it was awesome to watch them slide around the track.

Had to do something to keep up on the big track. Just an idea looks like next year is going to get even better with time attack and the comp and new tracks so definitely something to look forward to.

He did a little something to it leaving it damaged and needing at least a new IC. So what would people think about the classing for the AWD Comp if it changed a little? Lets say we open a new class at the bottom called stock or enthusiast and have the points go from 0-2.5? Then do Street from 2.6-5.5 and then Mod from 5.6-11?

Stock 0-2.5 pts
Street 2.6-5.5 pts
Modified 5.6-11 pts

HP caps would still be in place, Street at 400hp and Mod at 500hp. I would imagine that Stock would be set at 350hp. I think this would push a great competiton with guys all being very close in times. What do you guys think?

Could turn out pretty well I think. If I classify myself as just a plain WRX I could probably squeeze into the stock class lol!

I'm curious to see if some of the points weighting changes, ie 2 points for double adjustable coilovers vs 1 point for single adjustable, maybe change the 2 ways to 1.5 points. Just a thought as I know quite a feel people run the KW's...

Haha well then a motor swap would probably add points and get you up. You need to be in street though with your times you want to have people to compete against. One reason I like it set at 2.5 is that as I sit now I am right around that, with coil overs and 255s I would go over so it would allow guys to get more power or get suspension but not really both. I think it will be great for everyone and allow for some tight comps.

Haha yea I plan to stay in Street. If anything I would want to move up rather than go down. I just don't have the power for Modified... Yet...

Yea I know what you mean, I plan to play around in street for a while at the same time I plan on watching what's going on with RTA and seeing how the rules shape up. I believe we get out into street there as well but that street gets a little wild.

That is a really fast time for only being on lowering springs, and having a passenger inside. Was the car more stable with a passenger or something?

I would like to see the points breakdown like this:
0 to 3 points (Enthusiast)
3.25 to 6.50 (Street)
6.75 to 11.00 (Modified)

This will keep GTR's in modified (6.75 stock), and bump down some people in modified that are having a hard time with some of the faster cars with more points.

You do run the risk of watering down the fields though if there isn't a good turn out. Ideally you want to see at least 8 people in each class for it to be respectable. Anything less than 5 cars per class per event is a joke IMO.

I become torn with the street and Mod classes... Enthusiast we want to really limit what people can do hence we have to look at cars and say what would make thing very competitive. I look at my car for example and say I am under 3 points and I dont want to let someone like me into enthusiast to be honest haha. Which is why I like doing 0-2.5pt for enthusiast. Then we really have to look at how we can keep Street and Mod level enough... I think Mod is going to be a mix of mod and "unlimited" but as history has showed us unlimited really doesnt show up. But overall we would not allow any tires under 100 TW which is many reasons why people would go to unlimited. Street should grow a small amount I believe but 1.5 points may be a little to large. I would say .5 but max would be 1 pt. It will leave a large gap for Mod but then again mod will be for guys who basically have "built" motors, full suspension and are good drivers. Basically capping the HP to 500whp and alot of suspension under the points rules with 100tw tires to be really competitive.

Hence here is my thoughts:
0-2.5 Enthusiast
2.75-5.5 Street
5.75-11 Mod

I guess looking at our current field people still have alot of room to grow within their classes, I mean I am at 2.5 I think... and need to go to 255s. But technically I could get a hans and stay in enthusiast but no thanks. I plan on going coilovers. People like Ben could do more safety and do some more mods or just the same or add something for .5, a guy like Gevorg needs to up safety and work his suspension, although I think with new power rules he might get bumped either way but I think he should want to go mod and play with kevin and Zhong and mod his car more maybe stay same turbo or not... People like Campbell just need to get their cars running and more play time at the track. Ken is sitting in a positition to add safety then add power so yea I dont think there will be alot of movement in the fields except people moving from street where they are not competitive at all to enthusiast which will be great for them.
