There doesn't happen to be a 2 button(lock/unlock) variant for those of us that just have 2 buttons? It seems silly having the panic and trunk button... unless did I not read enough and somehow those majikally work?

xluben-

I dont have enough posts to email you and am sorry for having to post this in this thread. I was hoping you could email me at [email protected] so I could arrange purchasing a 2011 legacy key via your expertise and subaru connection. Thank you in advance!

Good to know. I ordered from him on July 4 so I figured it would take some time to get to me. I'm just anxious to get my toy put together.

Shipped Monday the 8th. I would expect you to have it any day. Send me an e-mail if you don't see it by Monday.

Anybody knows a place in Michigan that would do a laser-cut key? Local dealer said they cannot.

Hi Ben,

I just bought a 2013 Subaru WRX STi (first Subaru) and I am in love with my car. I have been doing fun little mods and came across this thread after contemplating the remote start kit.

I basically made an account to post on this thread. I am unfortunately able to email other users yet (10+post). I was interested in sourcing the flip key house and Legacy remote. Thanks in advance to anyone's help or replies!

Very happy, thanks again Ben!

where did you end up getting this cut for $28? I am located in RI looking for someone local to get it done, Dealer said $109 to cut it. if I cant find a cheap place to cut the key I will just have to try my luck at doing it myself with the valet key.

A place called "Clark the Locksmith" - they are located downtown PVD. Make sure you call first as the guy that specializes in the keys is there odd hours.

Good luck - other than catering to their schedule, they were great and no issues. Just tell them you already have it chipped and ready to go.

I bought the shell on eBay for 10$. The legacy key on eBay for 20$ and got it cut for 30$. Took about 20 minutes total with the build and programming. I also bought 2 more kits and legacy keys to make for people locally

Your local locksmith might have one from an old key or check local dealerships. I've gotten springs for free from a vw dealership

Most locksmiths can do it. Just ask if they do milling. Shouldn't be more than 40$

Hey, so what's the difference between milling a key and laser cutting a key? I thought we had laser cut keys?

Sorry if there the same thing... Noob questions..

Milling a key is basically manually cutting it with a machine and takes more work but is a lot cheaper
