1 is manual and 1 is electronic just kidding

manual is good and cheap
electronic is better and will make more HP but cost more money

some people say a MBC can make just as much power but that is not true. it can make the same peak boost level but it will not be able to hold the pressure like a EBC can

with a MBC you may get 10lbs is 1st , 12lbs in 2nd and 14lbs in 3rd and so on.

with a EBC you will get what ever you set it at in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and so on as long as it's set correctly.

now if you set the boost for 15lbs with a MBC and get 15lbs in 4th or 5th you will not get that in 1st...you may only get like 12lbs or so.

you will get that extra 3 lbs in 1st with a EBC so if those 3lbs extra in 1st translates into more power

EBC is better but more money
MBC is a nice cheap, easy mod to make somewhat close to EBC power.

all depends on what you want to spend

MBC is btw $1 & $110
EBC is btw $300-$500

most EBCs will let you adjust your boost depending on throttle position and/or by gear. You won't need a boost gauge to keep an eye on your boost because it'll be included in the readout.

MBC is cheaper, easier to take out too. You'll have to get a boost gauge. If you are thinking of getting an EBC, you might as well get a chip instead. ~$700

chip is simple and easy but EBC and AFC is better because you can adjust things yourself.....chip is set and that's it. makes it nice for the people that don't have the time or know how to play with setting. i like to play

Just for reference, if you have an auto trans you will get 15psi in every gear if you set an MBC to 15psi.

Get a good EGT so you can see how hot things get a part throttle. A kid ran a MBC locally without an EGT to monitor and blew his engine. Fortunately for him, he got warrantied. I examined the block after the work was done and bits of the rings were fused to the cylinder wall.

YMMV, but it's your car and I have a feeling you are going to do what you want to do!

No, it won't display EGTs. You need an EGT gauge and an EGT probe, which goes into your exhaust manifold.

The only thing an EBC may display is boost pressure and maybe vacuum.
