I'll share my results next month. My internally wastegated ts 8374 will arrive in two weeks. Been tracking your thread for updates. I like what I'm reading!

Forgive me for the possible stupid question. What is required to run the virtual gauges? The software and a double din head unit?

I'd love to see results as well. Particularly a log. I'm on the cusp of buying a twinscroll 8374 for a track only motor. I can't decide on the size for the hot side.
Wondering if the turbo would work well in my '08 motor with DAVCS if I only did porting/port matching, mild cams, FR headers and reversed intake? I'll have all the other bells and whistles. Stock compression CP's, Carrillo rods, etc.
Wondering if it would be worth it to pull out all the stops and go bigger valves; perhaps a different intake?
Would like to preserve some good mid-range torque. My current motor gives me 370 FPT at 4K RPM and all 391 by 4.3K.

the EFR 8374 is a great turbo, I use one on my 2L evo - BUT keep in mind it is not small (62mm inducer) so if you wanted to see 300+FPT before 4k rpm the EFR 7670 is my recommendation. With a twinscroll EFR7670 you can see 300TQ @ 3800rpm and 24-25psi by 4000rpm

the way to size the hotside is easy IMO: Internal-WG (0.92 a/r) or External-WG (1.05 a/r). I prefer internal for street cars and external for racers/track car builds. everyone has their own preference

It sounds like this is an excellent engine spec and matches both the 7670 or the 8374 - just be realistic with what you want from the car and which powerband you prefer before choosing the turbo and its housing.

Actually the walbro 460 we put in wasn't enough above about 23psi. After talking with Ryan about options we decided to step it up to a real fuel system with a surge tank, a nice big in line pump, and new lines all the way back. This is the only way we'll be able to max out this turbos.

Thanks

While you are sorting the fuel with that car, have you finished tuning that BRZ? I am interested in results. I was thinking of sending you one for a tune.

Working on the BRZ. We've been so damn busy at the shop lately with all these GTR's .

Ran outta fuel at 23 psi with the 416? Not seeing that at 620whp 78 psi rail pressure. Is your pump hardwired?

Yep the pump is hardwired. Anything over 23-24psi it will just start to lose pressure and lean out hard. This is at 50psi base pressure.

Interesting. 3 separate cars running 75+ psi with no issues. Perhaps an issue with the pump itself?

Well at 23psi, we're at about 73psi rail pressure. Anything about 75psi rail pressure, it drops off on the top end. And this turbo flows a lot of air at this boost level, so I think it has more to do with flow than overall pressure. Are you running on E85?

How did you guys hardwire the walbro in? I recently installed an 044 on my fuel pump hanger and need to figure out how I want to hardwire that sucker in. Im about to move my battery to the truck too so that should make the hardwiring process a little easier. I would also like to install a fuel pump cut off switch.

We ran new wire back with a breaker and a relay. The relay is triggered by the stock fuel pump control wire.
