Default The Z, what about the MINI?

Pricing for these was also released yesterday at the Detroit show. I must say it came in much lower than I expected. Tricked out Cooper S for ~$21k. Anyone out there think this might be an interesting car, or is it going to be as annoying as the new beetle? The original Mini was great to watch at Lime Rock for the vintage races... I can't imagine how much grief I would get if I owned a Miata and a MINI.

I saw the Mini's at NAIS last year, the cooper looks awesome.

unfortunatly this will be an item that dealers will mark up a lot.

I have a written commitment from MINI Peabody to sell at MSRP... And as we all know dealers never try to go back on their word.

I still have a new Mini Cooper S on order, however, after i got to sit in it..its very cheap..and super small. So I bought the WRX instead.

I have a 71 Turbo Mini and the WRX and I will give my place up gladly... My father is the Service Director at a BMW/Mini store in CT!

Love my WRX!!!!!

Sign me up! Cooper S and the WRX in the garage. The Legacy GT will be demoted to crap duty: hauling to VT, Home Depot runs and the like.

You are the first person I have heard say either of those things. While it is only a $20k car, I have yet to hear the interior be called cheap...in light of your Subie ownership, that says something.

In the end, I really need a practical winter car, and while the MINI looks like fun, it isn't as useful as the WRX. Of course, that will not stop me from test driving a MINI this spring. Who knows, maybe if the GF gets the Audi wagon she wants I won't need a practical car.

a 71 turbo MINI?????? Cool!!! I loved watching the Minis at Lime Rock for the vintage races. How often do you take it out? I would love to see that car sometime, or get a ride in it.

I was really disappointed by the door panels and the dash in the Mini. When I first saw the pics of the New Mini, I thought the interior was either high quality plastic or alloy.. When I saw the car I was totally psyched.. I got in and I saw and felt the interior and was completely disappointed. The door pulls are hollow plastic. i could go on..

I bought my 02 WRX for 21k and I feel i got so much more value buying this car. My fiance thinks that the MINI is cute, but the over value over cuteness wins with us!

I would be more than pleased to show you my MINI..

BTW: I sell Porsche's and Audi's at CLair in West Roxbury..

I saw an imported one in New Milford, CT. It was bigger than a thought. Looks cool. Supercharged version might be fun.
